After what feels like forever.... @ArachnoDrew I finally had that Adult female Serrulatus pop. Lol. My question to everyone is with her eating a couple and only roughly 8 or so 2i remaining, should I separate them as they leave mom? I would hate to lose any as they are hands down one of my...
Send me a message if interested! Agreed that Junceus are rather expensive... I think I paid $40 per baby. Definitely a fun scorp to watch. I personally am a huge fan of Centruroides gracilis. They get a good size, easy care, communal, not super potent. And mine breed easy and always have yellow...
Look into cuban barks. Heteroctenus Junceus. Beautiful colourful scorps that can be housed communally and not a serious sting. Actually is used medicinally in Cuba for its venom properties.
I know Chuck Hall works with Tityus and Centruroides. I am going to be rehoming my T Smithii due to not being able to find a mate for him.. I'll have to just buy a group of babies and go that route. My Serrulatus is giant and still waiting around for her to drop babies and my Stigs are still...
Got to agree. But still a fun brood of paravaejovis! Cool to see. Just leave them with mom and offer a pre killed cricket and when they molt and start coming off her back you can separate them into little deli cups.
Definitely aggressive. For young species my most aggressive/defensive are H Tamulus, P Granulatus, and A Crassicauda. The Tamulus are definitely ballsy for their size.
The gentili are much higher toxicity then Franz even though they are extremely similar. Both are awesome species. Jayakari are also a dope species. Personally I own a few young Tamulus and they aren't anything special! Of my Hottentotta species my Franzwerneri are my favourites colourwise
Let me know if you need one. Lol. I have a couple pairs and only need to keep the one! These are an awesome species. My adult Granulatus is amazing but these Villosus definitely go after anything they can eat. Not mean or aggressive but curious for sure!
Why are they more difficult in your opinion? I feel like mine (since 2i) at 4i now has eaten damn good and seems like it does better then my clade 2 and Bal babies. And the M3 clade from you finally molted a while back and is doing solid as well man!
Females are decently sized bigger. What colour morph do you have? I may be moving a 6i pair of PVO soon... they are an awesome species due to them being diurnal and active all day. One of my favourites in the Parabuthus genus!
I thought it was interesting that H arizonensis is roughly a 198mg/kg LD50 but I've got a Parabuthus Granulatus that's bigger than my adult desert hairy with an LD50 of 1.58mg/kg
I have been stung a couple of times by Sculpturatus and twice was a mild pain and one gave me a seizure and full systemic reaction. Plus all of the known fatalities from the species is why I disagree. C Gracilis is rated a 3 and in my opinion from young and sub adult stings, I'll take a poke...
I managed to find B gigas some how if you want one or a couple lol. I'm getting some in a week or so! Completely different care requirements than Franzwerneri but very cool species
A friend of mine has 3i Franzwerneri if your interested... I drill holes around all 4 sides up top, and put a few holes in the lid and it works perfect. I only drip a few drops of water on one spot of the clay once a week. And a couple times a month I'll mist a spot and part of the side...
Personally man I use critter keepers or the 6" rubbermade tubs. Excavator clay, little bit of coco fibre and a piece of bark to hide under. They are cool for sure. Just fed mine a dubia roach last night!
