Posted about this T yesterday, but wanted to add some clearer shots for identification. Again, bought this as a smaller sling in an auction under the impression it was C. lividus. As it’s aged, I’m fairly certain it’s a P. murinus colorform but not certain.

Sold to me as C. lividus when it was very small. As it’s grown I’m pretty sure it’s P. murinus but just wanted to be sure. We’re several molts in without a hint of blue, so I feel like I wasn’t sold the correct species. Either way, I lost my OBT to old age not that long ago, so I’m not mad ab it!

Hi all,
My MM A. Avicularia M6 has stopped drinking from his water dish as of late. He just webs it up and the webbing wicks the water into the substrate. Is there any alternative way to ensure he’s getting proper hydration? I lightly mist the enclosure hoping he’ll just drink from the...
My LP has a bump in between its spinnerets and I’m not sure if it’s a possible impaction or just a normal characteristic. I hadn’t noticed it until now, and I also haven’t noticed any dropping remnants lately but that could be easily overlooked. Thoughts?
Hi all,
My A. Avicularia M6 molted into maturity today and I was wondering how long I have left with my lil guy. Do male Avics live long after their final molt, or are his days numbered? I don’t know of anyone nearby with a mature female and I don’t feel comfortable shopping him off on a...
Update: I added a bit more substrate, bringing it to about 3” in depth, leaving space for webbing and anchor points with the piece of wood and fake plants
Hi all,
I can almost guarantee that I’ll catch flak here for doing this, but I purchased an OBT (RCF) as my first Old World species. My options were slim (OBT, Chilobrachys sp. Kaeng Krachan, and a tiny C. Lividum Sling) and I felt I was ready to purchase my first OW. I have 5 other T’s (T...
Haven’t seen anyone suggest Nhandu Chromatus! Beautiful T’s, great eaters, a tad flighty sometimes but you can usually catch them out and about. Their hairs are TERRIBLE if you’re reactive to them though. I have 5 T’s and my Nhandu has by far the worst hairs. They don’t kick them at you so much...
All of the above are correct. Also, not sure if the same applies to slings, but both “Rose hair” species are known to be terrible fasters. Eat once and then not again for a month or more. My Rosie only ate about once every three months. Prepare to be stressed out by it, but know the spider will...
Two molts today! First, we have an LP sling with its 4th molt since September. Haven’t had a good opportunity to measure yet, but putting on quite a bit of size with each molt. Pics are of the molts since September (when I got it) and a nice cheeky leg shot for those Playspider magazines😂😂...
Update: successful molt! It seems as though the little sling knows what it’s doing, almost as if millions of years of evolution prepared it for this😂 (here’s a pic of every molt so far, trying to keep them intact so I can illustrate just how big it will get)
update part 2: woke up this morning...
My LP sling is in the most position in its burrow. Is this okay/safe? There isn’t a whole lot of space and I’m just concerned it may get stuck. Maybe I’m just being a nervous parent
Same here! Rescued mine from a run down pet store, where she had less than an inch on sub and was in death curl. Got the store to sell her to me for $5 since she was dying, and I saved her from death. But now she has the nerve to threat pose when I do ANYTHING with her enclosure and strikes at...
I have noticed on a local classified ad that someone has posted an E. Campestratus for sale. In the photos, it appears like an A. Seemanni, but I’m not entirely sure. Just looking for some confirmation. I know they’re a fairly hard to find species, so I’d like to pick her up if it’s legit!
