I absolutely love the dubia. All my specimens enjoy them now. And my local pet shop keeps them in stock so no worries there. I absolutely detest crickets. Theyre dirty, less nutritious, and noisy when reached adulthood. Will never use crickets again. Dubia for life.

My female does this occasionally. She may bask for an hour if that and then go back in the rocks.

My femal h trog sometimes basks on a rock in the open. Its been a few weeks since shes done it but im pretty sure its nothing to worry about.

My issue is my h trog. Doesnt roam style hunt. She sits at the opening of her hide at night with claws out waiting for hapless prey to stumble in front of her. Am i going to have to tong feed the dubia to her or just place the kicking body on its back in front of her and leave it?

What kind of setup is needed to start keeping a colony of dubia? As of right now they are in the plastic cup that i purchased them in. Is that suitable or do they need a different environment to flourish and mature?

Well seems like shes not interested in the dubia. Was looking in the tank yesterday and noticed one hiding under a rock. Took it out and added two crickets yesterday evening. Those are gone. Guess im going to just stick with crickets for now.

Might be fattening up to molt maybe?

^ this. Its so much easier then removing stuff to clean. My hadogenes t. Likes to poop on the sides of the tank sometimes and i have no choice but to remove a rock or two but i try doing it during the time shes inactive and away from those particular areas.
