I think Chaerilus sp.
Chaerilus sp. Java is very similar.
An easy way to test is see if they fluoresce under UV - Chaerilus aren't supposed to (though some captive scorpions labelled as Chaerilus sp. Java do fluoresce)
Also probably matte black not mat black
Hadogenes is certainly not from America (That is Hadrurus). They are available but a little expensive.
H. swammerdami is not available in US. But they are not that impressive compared to other Heterometrus sp.
The unfortunate fact is that convincing people not to kill scorpions is borderline impossible (though I reccomend you try, and it will be awesome if you succeed)
