Yeah I wasn't trying to be a jerk or something, I just want people to look at both sides. I personally like to see evidence of something before I start believing in it. Just like saying there are aliens while there is no real proof, I'd like to believe there are aliens but I'd like to see some...
Again with the 'interbreeding-leads-to-bad-things' discussion. Go ahead and attempt breeding them. We're talking about invertebrates here and there is absolutely no scientific proof that interbreeding amongst invertebrates leads to genetic deformities. You simply cannot compare mammals with...
Rule number one: never disturb a moulting spider.
Rule number two: G. rosea are weird
I'd say you have nothing to worry about. If by october it still hasn't moved then come back ;)
Definite male. By the way my male matured over the weekend and he doesn't have hooks. Bulbs yes but no hooks.
Edit: on your full-size picture it appears as if the last segments on the pedipalps are short, leading me to believe they're bulbs?
I fail to find the half moon that is so apparent with males. Don't come running around telling me it isn't because it's very apparent with my chromatus, nigricolor, regalis, emilia, gbb, parahybana. Sometimes even I have trouble sexing though. TalkenLate is very accurate with ventral sexing...
If you give the containers a good place in the car then that's not an issue. Unless the driver drives like a maniac. I've bought tarantulas at expo's located in other countries and got them home by car without them suffering a cave-in..
That is one stunning picture and I sure hope he made it. Looks like an Aphonopelma.
Also take them with you. Any idea where you're going? I recently moved and just brought everything (the larger and smaller tarantulas, even one that was bred) in the containers they were in.
Males have something that is called a 'maturing moult'. This means that the male is now an adult. You can usually notice it when they have hooks on their front legs. The ends of their pedipalps will also appear to look like boxing gloves. That's when they'll make a sperm web. You can easily...

How can someone be this ignorant? I don't care anymore, just happily use your frontline but don't come crying because half of your collection is dead. I've got experiences and paperwork on cases with frontline.
I'm out.
It is actually used as flea and tick repellent for dogs and cats but also to repell bloodmites and such from reptiles like snakes. If you want to take the test then spray some on your hands before caring for your tarantulas. I can tell you the outcome won't be pretty.
Edit: to the person above...
I'm sorry to break it to you but your answer is in your previous post. You have used Frontline. It is one of the strongest household pesticides and is most likely the cause of death. Experiences from the past (going back half a year to just two weeks) tell me that this is it. I advice you to...
