@kerplunk in those 2 pictures the part in the middle of the underside carapace, Male looks red and female pic looks black could this be a possible tell as I have a Male that looks red in that part too
My question, missed a delivery today and it’s to drop to 6c (42F) overnight tonight what’s the chances there still alive for delivery tomorrow I don’t think there is heat packs in it as last night it only dropped to around 14c here
That is not a burrow that is just a hide a burrow is where you’re spider burrows into the dirt that’s where it gets its name burrow from you have less than an inch of substrate in there so this = no burrow
My question is do S. Maurus have to be kept in the 80’sF how do they fare in the low 70s high 60s. The reason I’m asking is my house drops to between 69 and 73 through the night depending on the weather outside so have to know whether to get an extra heat source for this species
Thanks
Andy
When normal temp during the winter here is less than 10c normal room temp isn’t ideal as it would cost a bit much heating someone’s property rather than a small heater heating a single room
Can you post pics of you’re current setup and what Tarantula species you have these would help
Also yes they tanks can be used but by replacing the mesh lid with a sheet of acrylic or polycarbonate with holes in it as you’re T can get it’s tarsal claws stuck in the mesh, but we have to know...
Heat strips should never be used under an enclosure. You can get small space heaters from loads of places try Argos or even eBay. If the heat strip must be used you should have a cupboard with the heat strip attached to the inside on the back and put the whole enclosure inside that cupboard it’s...
With the Ts you have get whatever you want the Nhandu or Phormic it’s totaly youre choice. When I seen this question I thought it’s someone with a brachypelma want to know if they should go for a Pterinochilus lol what are all the spiders you have what about looking for an arboreal as I see all...
Sounds easy but putting this into practice in reality is another story, yes you can do this with shipping containers, but doing this with an actual enclosure where they think home is is never going to work even if you’re pet hole does come out as soon as you disturb it it’s going to run back in...
I’ve seen people soo this on YouTube, filling there bath a bit and placing both enclosures in the middle, when the T bolts they just run round the enclosure and will stay off the water
Fill the tank at least half way with substrate that’s too much height. Yes you can sun dry it but don’t put you’re T outside in the enclosure in the sun as this will cook you’re T. Just do not add any water to the substrate it will dry out eventually if it’s not soaked if it is soaked better off...
