Update: she's eaten two crickets in a short time, she was hungry when she arrived and I just gave her another one to see if she was up for more. She almost literally jumped at the chance, so seems to be a voracious one right now. My two A. seemanni haven't eaten in a couple weeks, they've both...
So here's the second member of the Skeleton Crew, Kokytos:
She's a Nhandu chromatus, I got her today. She's absolutely beautiful.
Note: I didn't intend to handle her; she just sort of decided to go exploring while I was unboxing her, so I took the opportunity to snap a few pics...
Hey pals,
I see lots of spiders like this in my home and, since I've started keeping Ts, have decided to keep an eye on the spiders in the house, too.
I live in the UK and these dudes are really common in my house, and I THINK they're E. atrica, but this is just a super small specimen...
I'm not surprised that most of you said you wouldn't, but I am a little miffed that I got a dislike and a facepalm on my initial post; I'm just curious as to your folks' opinions, not telling you to eat your pets! Yikes! :(
I don't take my tea with milk or sugar, the tea bags are just steeped in water and taken out when I'm done. Should I tear open the bags and put the used leaves in my culture containers?
my list is:
ACHERON: Aphonopelma seemanni [✓]
STYX: Ephebopus murinus []
LETHE: Eupalaestrus campestratus []
PHLEGETHON: Grammostola pulchripes []
COCYTUS: Nhandu chromatus []
I'm building a "Skeleton Crew" of female Ts with skeleton leg patterns, each named after Greek underworld rivers. I'd...
Hey folks,
I don't know if this is a sore topic on here or whatever, but I figured I'd ask just out of curiosity:
Given that there are many cultures across the world that eat tarantulas, and cultures that eat their dead, where would you, personally, the person reading this, stand on the idea...
No! She's on a skull. I bought a bunch of plastic skulls with which to decorate my Skeleton Crew's enclosures. Because aesthetic.
So I flipped her up and had a good look at her naughty bits.
She looks female to me, but I may be looking for the wrong thing, here.
Here's the pic I took of her...
Not the same "Acheron" as before; the previous specimen I uploaded was male and I renamed him Erebos. I am almost certain this individual is female, but I'd like feedback from the class while I wait for her to molt.
She was sold to me as female, so I'd like to know for sure.
Not only is this cricket alive, but it is comfortably sitting there as if nothing's wrong.
I don't think Acheron is very hungry right now .
Here are some nice pics of Acheron that I took with my DSLR
Since I renamed my first A. seemanni Erebos (because he turned out to be male), as I'm going for a theme where all my females have skeletal leg patterns and are named after Greek underworld rivers.
So, meet the first member of the Skeleton Crew, Acheron:
Ah!! So they just don't fill the leg with haemolymph until they're molting?
I haven't actually played any metroidvania style games (except duck tales on the original gameboy, if that counts) but I get the point, very good :P
