If she would eat them, no problem .. good food source :D. But you have those very small tropical isopods. VERY small.

making my t albo a bioactive enclosure!!!

Besides the fact that I don't think T.albopilosus is the best species for a bioactive enclosure, how can you create a bioactive enclosure without (small) isopods and springtails? Or do you mean an enclosure with live plants .... that's not real bioactive :). Plants need water, water means damp...

When should we expect to see the G rosea on the market again?

If I look at 2 breeders here in my country I can get slings from G.rosea, G.porteri, G.rosea rcf .... They are hard to find as females ... and if you see them they are expensive ... but as they grow slow the price is right. I agree with you. I found them boring pet rocks as well. Sorry for...

    Another Youtube Video

Whe he was just starting to attrack more people to his youtube he had very annoying thumbnails like the 10 most aggresive tarantula's .... I hate clickbait titles like that and that's why I don't follow him. He can be very good in what he does but .......

What were your experiences like with fossorial T’s?

For a true fossorial I would take 11/12 and a corkbark to start the hole. For Ceratogyrus marshalli max 5 but also in hight so it can web the place up and not dig all the way down. Also anker points and hiding places like fake plants. It's not what you must do, but what I would do.

What were your experiences like with fossorial T’s?

They are not fossorial as real petholes. They do like to dig but mine is only using it's hole when i open the enclosure. Even my real fossorial Haplopelma hainanum didn't dig all the way to the bottom. Only like 10m under ground. If you don't overfeed they are often outside. My I.mira (that's...

    Housing for adult arboreals 6-9"?

I was looking for custom made when a friend / breeder told me about him. They look amazing, great quality (much better than exo terra), but locks to hold the door. He can't do it anymore because off illness ..... I am looking again at custom made but in glass I can't find them .. meanwhile I...

Bumba horrida owners - typical behavior?

I had D.pentaloris as well. Total different spider. Bumba is a small thin spider with long legs. Davis is a plump big abdomen :). The davis was more skitish with me and always hidden and difficult feeding. When I had a visitor (also T lover) that loved her I gave it to her .... The bumba is...

    Housing for adult arboreals 6-9"?

I have 12 arboreal spiders. Every year I have someone make me terra custom made. 2 or 3 arboreal and 8 normal. But after a few years he can't do it anymore. I have 8 custom made now for arboreal. Only downside for me is they only have front door opening. Poecilotheria tend to run around the...

    User Spiders from GarField

After changing all the tops off the exo-terra I can rehouse some bigger spiders again .... I will design 2 enclsoures for now. One for the P. sp mascara juvi. Not sure if it's male or female. I hope a female as the other one is a mature now for already a year now. Hope this one turns into...

    Adult B. hamorii/smithi burrowers?

Mine did not. Only my T.albopilosus loves digging. My b.kahlenbergi also digs a little bit, but not as much is my fossorial T.albopilosus :D. My T.vagans made a burrow under the corkbark .... but she sits out almost always until I open the door to clean or give water. Then she goes in the The...

    Stirmi Eating !!

1 cricket is not much for a good size Theraphosa. I would give her 5/6/7 crickets at once, and than a week later again. Not every day ..... I feed mine one big dubia a week. And when I did a room feeding with crickets (I love the big black ones) I go around the next day to see who did not eat...

    First Snake

A cobra is completly different than a Thamnophis (garter snake). Thamnophis eat fish and not other snakes like a cobra :). (or rats.mice etc). They don't lay eggs but are give live birth like a boa. They also are not a constrictor or venomous like a cobra. They are opisthogylphus but they realy...

    First Snake

I had many garter snakes. They all eat the same but the biggest difference in species is how they go thru winter. Hibarnation, brumation temps will be different depeninding on species. I had 2 fridges with different temps. 5c and 10c. And mexican species I just had in a cold room during the...
