Generally Food safe is a good sign, at the very least it's "aquarium safe" but you have to make sure it says food safe. See (https://aquanswers.com/aquarium-safe-paint-durable/). Millipedes will sometimes explore with their mouths so make sure it's fully cured and none of the varnish is peeling...
I have some Orthoporus ornatus and I was able to catch two of them in the act of molting. One of them is molting weirdly but I don't smell anything from him so i'm just going to assume he's still alive and okay.
Thank you both for replying,
Yeah most definitely dead, the hole is too small.

Hello to everyone reading,
I've recently found this little dude in my millipede habitat. I haven't been taking care of millipedes for too long so i'm confused on what this is. It's most likely the skeletal remains of one of my millipedes but i'm really hoping it is not and that it's just a...
I've had these pedes for a few months and in the past month they've been looking dusty. I finally got a hold of a microscope to look at them and I found these. What type of mites do you guys think this is? Have you used the predatory mite Hypoaspis miles and if so how was your experience with it?

I set up that cage around 2-3 weeks ago when I got the new set of pedes. I usually feed them bananas, cucumbers, tomatos, lettuce, fish flakes that froze for a week, boiled dog food, and blueberries. I usually only change out the food when it starts to mold and haven't noticed anything weird on...
Hello,
I'm new to the whole raising millipede thing so I'm not sure what to think of this. I currently have 7 young Orthoporus ornatus millipedes kept in a 16" by 8" kritter keeper enclosure. I have not fitted the cage to keep in moisture very well so I have to spray everyday. Recently 3 of my...
