That is a good deal. :)
I hope I can stumble across something like that...I know I will be looking around that's for sure. And I'll have to keep reminding myself about that three tarantula cap I've put on myself.
I can tell this hobby is going to be a bad one from me to start into...
I get my first T on Monday, a Chaco.
My second T, which I will wait several months for *cough*, will likely be an A. Versicolor.
Though, since behavior interests me, I may have to throw one old world in as well...
Very true.
Though, as my first spider, it will be a bit of test run, really. I meant that though I would be slightly depressed if it ended up being a male, but I could deal with it. Unfortunately I like a great deal of short lived pets (rats, bettas, some other fish species) and a male would...
Thanks. I just wasn't sure if there was anything special I needed to look for. :D
And as far as gender, I know I have a 50/50 shot. I'll try buying a sexed spider for my next one (I want one terrestrial and one arboreal [likely a pink toe of some sort] and maybe one OW if I feel brave:razz...
Ok...next week I am getting my G. aureostriata from a local dealer (Botar by Eights) and I am going to his house to pick my tarantula out (he has several in stock).
What do you look for when picking out a one inch sling?
One last question...
The internet seems to fail me yet again.
What do you recommend feeding such a small spider?
Flightless Fruit Flies, mini meal worms, small crickets? Just want to do it right...:D
I'm so glad my cat sits still for baths. She's not happy about it, but she grudgingly accepts it.
Since your cat has such an issue with bathing, I recommend getting Frontline or Advantage as a monthly preventative so you won't have to worry about it. Stay away from Hartz brand though...there...
Thanks guys. :)
Sometimes the info on the net is a little vague.
Next question...
What substrate do recommend?
There are quite a lot of options, and I want what is best for its size since it will be so small.
Alrighty, next week I am getting a Chaco Golden Knee. It will be roughly an inch in size.
What size of housing would be best? I have read that the little guys get stressed and die from too large of housing. And I don't want that to happen.
I intended to have it in a 10 gallon aquarium...
Newbie!
Hi guys! I'm Julie. I'm a twenty year old college student. And I am brand spanking new to tarantulas. Actually, I haven't even gotten mine yet. I will be getting a Chaco Golden Knee next week though. I am so excited!:D
