He’s a very big boy (and surprisingly very docile), which is a little concerning because (correct me if I’m wrong) there’s a good possibility both of my females will outgrow him and the larger of the two is already almost his size and I thought SHE was big :astonished: I was under the impression...
I’m assuming male? I have two females at home and just bought this scorpion today (which is huge compared to my largest girl). Not the best pic but hopefully good enough to accurately sex it. I’m also assuming male because it has the notches on its pinchers :)
Thanks for any insight!
I know these may not be the best pictures but I got this presumed female AFS 2 days ago. She/he is much smaller than my H. Silenius female I got last month. Looking for an accurate sexing and species ID, also an age guess if possible?
Thanks :)
Hello again, so this is in reference to my female Heterometrus silenus. I just got her 2 weeks ago. But yesterday when she decided to come out of her hide I noticed her side plates are separating (I don’t know the proper terms yet). I believe she is fully grown and somewhere between 1 and 3...
Another question: how do I know if my scorpion is molting? My girl has been very active and was fine this morning I checked on her right now and when I was misting her enclosure I noticed she wasn’t moving at all, she’s usually really defensive but I touched her a few times and thought she was...
That’s what it seems like to me even though I’m new to the scorpion world! Mine had 0 Latin name with it whatsoever it just had the price tag and said “Asian forest scorpion”. I also wanted to ask if anyone knows the exact common name for mine’s species? I’ve seen Malaysian forest scorpion...
Got this (presumed female) Heterometrus (of some kind) from a pet store yesterday. She was labeled as an “Asian forest scorpion” but I would like a general guess as to which type of Heterometrus she most likely is :)
She has eaten since I brought her home, is super feisty, and likes trying to...
It seems to have one there but it’s barely noticeable and doesn’t stick out nearly as much as that one, that’s another reason I was thinking female. Also got this shot where you can kind of see it
Got this beauty today! I’m new to scorpions and through research and by looking at reference pictures I believe it is a female, but looking for a second opinion
