Oh I hope so much you're right. This is the first tarantula I ever got, and it was the tiniest of sling - 1/8 inch - just a wee speck. I'd be delighted if it's a girl. I actually got two of them at the same time... their moulting schedules are totally different, with one moulting much later than...

The pic is way too blurry to say with certainty, but my guess would be male.

Heteropoda Javan's spiders from Tarantula Canada - did you get one a year ago?

Hey guys! I know about a year ago Tarantula Canada was giving away and selling these little dudes, and I noticed at the time a bunch of threads about their care and such cropped up. Now that we're a year on, I'm wondering how they're all doing? Mine has grown incredibly, and unexpectedly has...

Share your funny spood behaviors! Let's laugh!

That's hysterical. Any theories as to why she picked that spot?? Source of heat behind the wall there perhaps? How did she keep getting out?! Weren't you scared she'd escape for good??

Lol. I said *unusual*. I thought all T's were unicyclists by nature.

Share your funny spood behaviors! Let's laugh!

Hi all, happy (almost) New Years! I would love to hear the stories of my fellow Tarantula keepers, about the funny, strange, uncanny, unexpected or unusual thing(s) you've observed your T's doing. The kind of things that make you chuckle and reaffirm that they have so much personality for such...

If there's anything in this pic that you would point to as something that helps you decide if it's female or male, i'd love to know - still learning to sex. Ty!

    Heteropoda javana care information

Hello guys, Sorry to bump an older thread, but I wanted to check in with others who got a h. javana from Tarantulas Canada, since I did also. How are your slings doing? Mine just shed again and is looking awesome, here it is with a cricket in its mouth. I'd love to see and hear how yours are...

Urgent question: Can my new P. sazimai live in a very small deli cup for 2 days? (Photos)

Oh thanks for the suggestion! I usually use coco fibre, and sprinkle some spagnum moss over it for a bit of added moisture. :)

Not sure where to post this, or if I should post at all? Alleged dealer animal abuse - feedback pls!

Thanks for your input. But thankfully since I did post about it here, someone was able to share an article & thread confirming the allegations, and I can now make a better informed decision about purchasing from them, something I wouldn't have been able to do if I had just ignored it and not...

Urgent question: Can my new P. sazimai live in a very small deli cup for 2 days? (Photos)

The dealer told me that they go through phases where they're almost black, to back where they're blue again after a moult, and that she was in a "darker phase". Here's a photo with flash:

Hi all. I'm not sure if this is appropriate to post here, please let me know your thoughts, I don't want to do anything wrong but I feel strongly about trying to get to the bottom of this. I was recently at a reptile convention and got to talking to one of the tarantula vendors as I browsed his...

Urgent question: Can my new P. sazimai live in a very small deli cup for 2 days? (Photos)

Hi guys! Just came home from my local reptile expo with a large, unexpected P. sazimai. I didn't realize until I got home that I don't have enough substrate for her new enclosure (DUMB, I know - I ran out last week and totally forgot). She's in this small 32oz deli cup (SEE BELOW FOR PICS)...

    Which tarantulas fit this description?

hey all! I've been reading the "intermediate" lists here and have a more specific ask - recommendations would be hugely appreciated! I'm looking for an intermediate new world with ATTITUDE. Something with a good feeding response that doesn't fall into the "pet rock" category. I want something...

For those of you who use tall deli cups for Avic slings

Do you find that you have to disturb their web every time you open the container? Or do you house them with the container upside down / no substrate? Can anyone who has had success with this method post their setups? Looking for inspiration before getting some new avics - thank you so much! :D
