Shouldn't worry about it if your T's a good eater.
Had something similar with mealworms a while back. Dropped two into the enclosure by mistake. My P. Ornata... "took care" of the situation for me.
How is it not a debate? Some clarification an definition from your perspective would be interesting.
That what was what I was wondering. Males re generally smaller, so obviously less molts. So do they grow smaller with each molt before that, or do females grow larger with each molt in the same...
That's very interesting. Why do you think the males are the slower growers within their species from your experience? I must admit, was expecting the opposite. So this is very interesting, and a great learning opportunity
So many aspects to choose from. I'd have to say though that I get very pumped after each molt. Not just the size etc, but the different colours etc sill amaze and excite me
While different species have their own individual growth rates (aka, a grammi vs pokie), does a growth rate from sling to adult give a clue as to if the T will be a male or female?
After all, while a male is often smaller, they max out at 3-5 years on average, while a female will keep going...
So sorry, neglected my own thread.
Loving the responses. I think the general consensus is education. Tbh I think that's totally amazing. The amount of times I';ve been asked "how do tarantulas drink? How do they grow?" Or one of the best opening questions I've been asked "do they get scared?"...
T. Blondi's replacing parrots would make for some hilarious scenes in pirate movies.
"Arrrgg! Have ye met me first mate, Squarks!"
*T. Blondi threat posing on Peglegs shoulder*
"Arrgg! According to thee Discovery Channel, she went ate me macaw!"
That's so awesome. Glad your friend was able to come around to not fearing spiders.
Oddly enough, I've managed to tackle a few people with the fear of snakes, as one of my snakes is called Pickles. I always say, you can't be scared of something that's called Pickles lol
You're absolutely right. I forgot B&W. "We're here to save pokemon, by fighting any pokemon with a human!" Yup, sounds like PETA
I must admit, I almost broke down in tears of laughter when they tries to have a pop at Steve Irwin, only to have the entire situation blow up in their faces lol
You have made so many amazing alterations from your initial setup, and that's awesome. The best part of anything is the ability to listen to advice.
You got a wonderful setup right now, and your Avic is going to love it.
Looking at the most recent photo, have you considered filling the "bald...
When people are curious about T's, what do you do?
Opening this up for friendly discussion, and possible unintended tips for those who end up in similar situations. Of course, we can't win them all. But when curiosity hits, what do you do?
I'll lead by an example.
Have a friend in the same...
Thank you. She's not out the woods yet (we'll se nxt molt). But SO glad she's been able to go by her instincts and be able to tackle live prey (even if it were small). And EAT
