I have had many males that dd not make sperm webs on their own for at least 4 weeks after maturing, so I know what you mean. I place a fair amount of the female's webbing in with him, or introduce him to the female but don't allow them to mate, just let them drum, and also feeding him may...
Hi everyone! I am looking for reputable breeders (or someone who at least sells) crested geckos or ball pythons in the Milwaukee area (within 60 miles of the city). If I can't find anyone here, I can check out Chicago, but I was hoping there would be something closer. Maybe there is a reptile...
I've been told around 7-10 years. So far, it is so cool, although it looks so fragile and I am so much more careful around it that with my T's. Also, males and females have similar lifespans - males don't mature and die quickly like T's do, so it's a win-win situation if you get any.
Bugmomma that is one nice bug!! And props to rusty for handling a pokie!
Very nice! Although I wasn't a member of L.A.T.E. at the time (it wasn't created yet) I did get to hold a P. metallica. Remember Rochelle? You and Jbrd were there. That was so cool they are definitely very neat...
One of my favorite Pokies, P. striata. I wanted to take some pics of this stud while he is still around. He is such a sweetie, he has never threatened even after the ridiculous amount of poking and prodding I have subjected him to in order to get him into a ladies tank. I'd love to hold him...
Actually the best option, especially for you TNB, is just take her out and then clean it all you want. I know you've taken nasty-tempered, fast beasts out before, so this should be not much different.
I think what this person meant to say was don't mist the T directly, it may irritate her. However, you MUST mist the cage, whether she gets sprayed or not.
Just hearing you talk about these guys makes me want another one. I sold my slings before cuz I needed cash...now I'm sad. They grow slowly but are way cool.
Anyway, maybe someone said this already, maybe not (I skimmed) but you could take a nice long dowel rod, as thin/thick and as short or...
I. hirsutum post-molt
G. aureostriata post-molt and trying to hide :)
A. minatrix cool tube web and booty shot
A. versicolor
P. striata
They were too quick for me to snap an insert pic
I agree with that statement, but I know that I have seen my do the same burst of speed while upside down - and that cannot be a jump. I'm not trying to argue, after all, we all have better uses of our time. I'm just sick of all the hype surrounding pokies. Fastest? No. Most ferocious...
B. boehmei, smithi or auratum. When was the last time someone had a sac of auratum? Everyone seems to like at least one of these, and most newbies get some. You could get hundreds of slings and sell them pretty cheap and still make out like a bandit. Of course, breeding for profit is a...
I've kept several species of both pokies (regalis, formosa, striata, fasciata, rufilata, pederseni) and avics (versicolor, purpurea, minatrix, avicularia, and sp. amazonica), and I have seen all of them run like heck. The thing is, with avics (especially slings) they can be in one spot and move...
Forget pokies, my A versicolor and minatrix can run circles around all of mine. My avics teleport quite regularly, and I've yet to see a pokie move as fast.
But if I had to pick a POKIE, I'd say my MM P. rufilata is pretty dang fast.
