It is very normal for tarantulas to go long stretches without eating, in fact I've heard some people say their spider has fasted for almost a year. However, the fact that he hasn't eaten combined with the information that he is usually curled into a tiny ball leads me to think he/she is stressed...
Also I forgot to mention that I saw him drink water a few days ago, something I’ve only ever seen him do before he molts. Also after looking more closely, I don’t think he has fully developed tibial hooks, but rather maybe just the early stages of them. I’m not expert though.
My male Lasiodora Parahybana sort of webbed himself onto the side of his enclosure (I've attached a picture). I've never seen him do this before. He hasn't eaten since the last time he's molted, which was only about 3 months ago which makes me think it would be odd if he's molting again. He's...
Hello everyone, I have a 2.5 year old, 5-6" male LP that recently molted. Before molting, It didn't eat for 3 months, which I guess isn't completely unusual but still worried me a little. However it has been exactly 4 weeks since it molted and he is still refusing to eat. Is this normal or cause...
No. This is only his second home, I moved him in maybe 2 or 3 months ago.
Update, I checked on him shortly after posting this and he was back to his normal posture. He still appears to be a little stressed though. He didn't eat when I tried to feed him so maybe he's in premolt and that's why...
I don't know why he's doing that... been like this for at least an hour. Is there something wrong or is he just being a silly goose? Species: Lasiodora Parahybana (4" ish)
Yeah, I heard some other people say that but it's kinda hard to explain to my parents why I'm putting 30 liters of dirt into the oven. Also I heard that it smells pretty bad afterwards. so that isn't really an option, Thanks for the suggestion though
I'm moving my LP to a new 20 gallon enclosure (yes I know that's a lot of space for him but since he's my only tarantula I like it that way) and I used Coco coir for the subststrate. I got it in brick form, so I had to add water and all that (used 4 bricks). Anyways, I can't get it to dry. It's...
I just picked up a tank 30" length by 12" width. I have a male Lasiodora Parahybana who is not fully grown yet but getting there and I'm hoping the tank will be big enough for the rest of his life. I'm just worried if the 12" is a little narrow? Also side question, I used top soil for his...
Looking for a new aquarium for my Lasiodora Parahybana because he starting to outgrow his 10 gallon one. Does anyone know what kind if deals I can get for aquariums on black friday?
Ok. After reading your response and a couple other threads I figure he’s just stretching. I have noticed him in a couple different positions. I’ll give him a few days
my LP just molted about 24hrs ago and it looks sort of slumped... if that makes any sense. Like it’s not standing up very much. I’d post a picture it’s too dark and i don’t want to use a light or flash. Also one of his legs looks crooked but I think that’s not a big problem. Is this normal for a...
Should I collapse my Tarantula’s burrow, now that he almost never uses it? when i first got my LP he dug himself a small burrow which he stayed in most the time. However, since his last molt he almost never goes in there. He stays in a hide i placed in his terrarium. He’s molted twice since I’ve...
