    Bald booty

Cool! Didn't know the crushing head thing. I suppose he could be a MM but I wouldn't really know how to know if he is? He just had a moult a bit before I cleaned his home.

    Bald booty

Correct I don't bother him. We did a full clean of his home about a month ago due to a lost meal worm that I didn't want stressing him out if it were to molt into beetle stage somewhere in the substrate. Otherwise i hardly bother him other than to just feed him. Thanks for the 2 trillionth reply...

    Bald booty

Forgive me if this has already been asked a trillion times. I don't use this forum often but do find it very helpful although I have difficulty navigating. Anyway, my brachypelma albopilosum has recently started losing his hair on his rump. Not a normal premoult bald spot. Is he kicking hairs...

    Grammostola rosea Questions

My G Rosea also empties his water dish constantly. I have never witnessed him actually do it but I often imagine him playfully splashing about kicking it all over. I suppose I'm strange for giving him quite the playfully personality as I understand although all are different in behavior they...

    Isopods? Springtails?

Oh gotcha! Thank you. Mine prefer a drier climate so I guess I shouldn't need to worry. :-)

    Isopods? Springtails?

Hi there - Do you recommend isopods and or springtails as helpful clean up crew for tarantula? If so, which to choose? Also where would I acquire them if necessary? I have heard suggestions of having a clean up crew but as I'm still learning I want to make the best decisions for my Ts. Thanks...

Wrong species? Or angry brachypelma albopilosum?

HA NO. Olive Garden is not a restaurant. I own a local/organic made from scratch bakery/cafe/restaurant. Initials are FRC. That's all I will give ya. :-) We are lucky to not have to dine at chains and have lots of great quality food. Love OlyPen!

Wrong species? Or angry brachypelma albopilosum?

Neat!!! Hi neighbor!! Great perspective, we are giants technically. I'm glad to hear I'm not alone in personality changes and thanks for the correction of "defensive" vs "agressive" you're right, he isn't just running around attacking, he most certainly is reacting which does make a difference.

Lucky enough for me....I own a restaurant. Will sort through tomorrow!

Wrong species? Or angry brachypelma albopilosum?

Meh I'm not hurt over it. Thanks for the info on the height, these enclosures were sold to me as "juvenile terrestrial enclosures", had no idea they were too high. On the hunt for new digs as we speak. Gotcha! Very interesting. I too read they are semi arboreal so good to know that's semi false :-)

Wrong species? Or angry brachypelma albopilosum?

Good feedback, I will start looking for wider shorter enclosures for them and also bury my B.a. hide more for him. My GBB seems to like the height as it webs like crazy up and down and all over. Am I misinterpreting the webbing assuming it is comfortable and it is actually stressed and trying to...

Wrong species? Or angry brachypelma albopilosum?

Awesome! Yea you and a few others have busted that myth for me. Bummer to have invested in the fancy stuff when it wasn't necessary. All part of the learning process though. I appreciate your help. Thanks so much!

Wrong species? Or angry brachypelma albopilosum?

I just added 3 pics of the other species homes as you requested. I think they attached to my comment above somehow by accident. But anyway yes please let me know if I can improve their homes, I want to do right by them and as far as I've read on those (dreaded) caresheets I think I've got it...

Wrong species? Or angry brachypelma albopilosum?

Wow thanks. Really helpful. I have found it both interesting and frustrating as a new T Mama the contradictory information that is listed in several places. It seems variable as you've said I just know I'd rather be too careful I suppose as I learn. I'm sure I will loosen up as I get more...

Wrong species? Or angry brachypelma albopilosum?

Got it, over and out. By the way I've already said it but I will say it again. I dont handle any of my Ts. And thanks for all the critical corrections and let me just suggest that if you are truly trying to educate someone, the snarky attitude doesn't help because to be honest with that kind of...

Wrong species? Or angry brachypelma albopilosum?

Yes I have a temperature/humidity gage at the top of enclosure. I've read on a few how to care sheets about desirable temps/humidity. I dont go crazy about it but I do try to keep it in a general area of suggestion just because I am new and learning and dont want to accidentally do something...

Wrong species? Or angry brachypelma albopilosum?

Right, I dont handle or attempt to handle any. This aggression happens during feeding or if I use the tongs to remove something from the enclosure. I generally dont even access the enclosure unless I am feeding. I know that any and all are susceptible to being aggressive, I've just read that BA...

Wrong species? Or angry brachypelma albopilosum?

Hi there - Just to get it out of the way - I am incredibly new to the hobby of keeping tarantula. I now have 4 species, all generally recommended for beginners and all has been going smoothly. Until recently. I purchased a 2 inch Male brachypelma albopilosum in December through an online...
