    My first Scorp.

On Sunday I bought a juvie Emperor, and it's only about 2" from head to base of the tail. I've named the little one "Kurgan", from the movie Highlander. Kurgan is such a little beast, he is very quick to become defensive, and is very active. He just took a full-grown lobster cockroach tonight...

    It's been a while...

Since I've posted about my T's and how they're doing, so here goes. My Pink Toe is doing great, and he accepts 3-4 roaches a week. My Rose Hair still hasn't molted, but is doing great on mushed-up roaches and split pinkey mice. On Sunday, I aquired a very beautiful female Costa Rican Zebra. She...

    Misc. Roaches

Nice pics!! Love the little G. cappucinas, they are neat looking. Nice shots of the Hissers, very beautiful. As far as a collection, you are off to a great start:) . Good luck with them! laters, Bill:D

    Roach tub

It depends, how many do you have? If you have a good number of egg cartons in the tub, they will have a lot of space in there. I have 100 B. discoidales in a similar tub, and they are fine.

    Leeches

The ones you are thinking about are the Medicinal Leach. I don't know their latin name, though. You should do a search for Medicinal Leaches, there are farms that raise them in mass quantities for sale to hospitals and such. They shouldn't be too expensive, maybe $5.00 at the least. They are...

    Mealworms?

We have a room in our house that stays nearly 80F all the time. I keep my large colony tub in that room, and they get all the heat they need. As stated, room temp should be fine. But, the warmer, the better. Good luck! laters, Bill:D

    Anyone?

Well, I'm giving up on trying to raise them. I'm allergic to the dust-like material that the moths give off. I spent the better part of the morning in the Emergency Room at the hospital with severe breathing problems. Luckily I'm better now, even though I'm still having a little asthma. I've...

    Anyone?

Also, my Green Tree Frog likes them too:). She will chase them around her tank, even catching them in mid-air:D . laters, Bill:D

    Smelly Noisy Crickets

Cool. Cedar Falls/Waterloo is a nice area to be in. I'm glad that atleast one person in this message board is within driving distance of me:) . I live near Charles City, and I regularly make it down to your area. BTW, have you ever been to Emporium Pets? laters, Bill:D

    Smelly Noisy Crickets

I had a colony of Crickets once... they were stinky, noisy, highly caniballistic, would die if you looked at them funny, and were expensive as hell. I'm glad you are having luck with crickets, someone has to:) . Why don't your roommates allow you to keep roaches? IMO they are easier to keep and...

    It's a Male !!

Wow! Those are amazing looking! That's a bummer that there are no females of that species in the U.S. :( . I hope you get a female out of the other one. I love leaf insects:) . laters, Bill:D

    Anyone?

Well, the waxworms that I bought as stock to breed were HUGE! The other waxworms that I've bought to feed to my herps before these were pretty small and weak looking, but these are beefy looking! They are so healthy looking that I figure they must be sound enough to make good strong moths. I...

    my mantis died this week

:( That sucks man. Atleast you got a few oothecae from her. Hope they are fertile. laters, Bill:D

    Anyone?

Wow! I thought I'd never get responses to this post! I'm using a mix of bran, honey, beeswax, dog food, and maple syrup. They grow very fast on the mix, and I've already got bee moths flying around in a tall cage. Luckily we have very few bee keepers around my area, so I don't think anyone...

    Mantid on "Bernie Mac"

Yeah, I did. It shocked the hell out of me. Very rarely do shows on tv get things like that correct. Amazing. laters, Bill:D

    Arboreal T enclosures

Beautiful setups:) . My Avic. is set-up in a very tall, clear plastic shoebox. He couldn't climb the walls of the box, so I drizzled hot glue on the inner walls to give him areas to grip. He now will spend hours walking around the inner walls of his enclosure, and is less jumpy when I open the...

    Anyone?

Does anyone here culture their own waxworms? I bought a few hundred of the little guys a couple of weeks ago, and now they're starting to pupate. I made my own waxworm bedding/food, and they really gorge themselves on it. I just removed 82 pupae from the tub that I have the waxworms in, and some...

    im getting out.

Could this be something that has the potential to affect Insects/Myriopods/other arachnids as well? If so, I hope it can be stopped as soon as possible. I hope we all don't start start losing all sorts of inverts along with our T's. If it ends up being able to infect feeder insects, those of us...

    Urgent T problems

Bristles won't eat for me at the moment. I tried the raw chicken breast, and I cut a slit in the back of a roach. She could just be getting used to her new home right now, I'll try to feed her again in a few days. She has been drinking water from her shallow water dish, so I'm not worried about...
