    Could a Katydid be a good beginner?

    I always find tons by gas station lights at night. I ask the owner and he said it was okay... I've found so many different species there it's unbelievable! My favorite place to go (it's easy... and people look at your funny:))

    Collecting beetles?

    Whenever I flip over rocks/logs etc... I always find Carabids, they seem to be very easy! Just thought that little bit of info might help, sorry I can't assist more! I found Stags, Carabids and Jewel beetles always by gas station or porch lights.

    I thought I had killed both of my Carolina Mantid Oothecas (plural?) But I kept them warm and misted... I cleaned my room the other day and discovered I had babies! Don't give up on your ootheca too soon!

    Baby Mantids

    Okay so I have 2 Carolina Mantid Egg Sacs from a female I caught at the end of the summer. I was cleaning my room today and notice one of them hatched! I am so excited. I did have babies (Chinese Mantis) around Christmas time, but they died on their first molt probably because of humidity...

    I apologize, maybe it was just who I heard this from knew someone from Arizona that ate these? My comment made it sound like oh those Arizonians eat those ants all the time. Not my intention sorry :)

    Easy beginner lizards

    Then I will say... definatly a Bearded Dragon! I heard they are the only lizards that are good to hold. If I were to get a lizard, that is what I would get also.
