My tarantulas all have multiple hides and lots of sub to burrow.. some have nifty networks from one hide to the next.. kinda like front and back doors. Always lots of plantation and safety spots and I never leave a depth longer than their length from their sub to the lid.. even the plants...

I thought their fangs inject the digestive juices into their prey making it easier to eat? I don’t see it being defanged.. plus they would come back after a molt or two anyways???
My b. Smithi likes to wander its plants more than burrow. 1.5 in sling in a 6x3 enclosure with 3 in sub. It won’t burrow but hangs out. it is eating well. Is there any concern??When bought 4 months ago all it did was burrow eat and molt. Not stressed as it avidly explores and eats help??
My girl burrowed for nearly 2 months with a view of only her butt.. today she can out .. she was 3 inches going in and around 3.5 to 4 coming out.. and sooooo black..
Put my little guy in new home. 7 days after molt ate small cricket so I rehoused it after its dinner. Btw both are confirmed b Smithville not hamorii. Yay
