Is tarantula keeping your main hobby?

Update to this, How things are currently going in my life, I don't think I'm gonna be able to be in the hobby anymore. I'm actually getting ready to offer one of my friends the remainder of what I have for free. Sometimes life kicks you when you're down to the point you're ready to throw in...

This is a good reason on why tong feedings aren't necessary. Just drop the prey in and go.

    Centruroides communal observations

I do power feed my females if they are gravid or I suspect they are gravid. I keep my heat set in the 70's so the temps aren't an issue. Like I said before, this was the first time I'd had anything like that happen. Before, I had brood after brood with no problems lol. I don't use heat mats...

    Centruroides communal observations

The gracilis I currently have were bought wild caught, unsure if that has anything to do with it, but I had horrible luck with 2 of my females. Apparently they were already gravid when they were sent to me. 2 were significantly fatter than the others, so as a precaution I put them into their...

    Centruroides communal observations

I love gracilis :P My pfp is one of the females I had and bred. I think she had 57? or so in that picture. For me, these are so easy to keep and breed. I've never had issues with aggression and at one point had so many I couldn't give them away as freebies lol. I got out of the hobby for a...

I thought I was above it all..

I miss my little GBB. It died from unknown causes right before it started getting its adult colors, had the jerky motions of DKS. Thinking back to all the spiders I've had over the years, I never bought another GBB. The M. balfouri my ex had webbed up quite nicely and pretty colors to boot.

ball of stuck poop on tail

I guess it's more common than I originally thought lol. Hopefully if anyone else has this issue they'll be able to find this thread helpful on what to do. Just checked on the little 'guy' and it ate, so I'm gonna say that's a definite good sign lol. What methods do you use to remove the...

ball of stuck poop on tail

I came home from work tonight and did my routine of feedings and noticed one of my small C. gracilis scorplings had what appeared to be a round glob of hardened poop stuck to its tail, completely immobilizing it's stinger. Out of the few years I've been in the hobby, this is the first time I've...

Hapalopus sp. Colombia large looks yellow

I wish it had just molted lol. It hoarded that molt for almost 2 and a half weeks now and just recently brought it out of one of it's tunnels.

Hapalopus sp. Colombia large looks yellow

My biggest one out of the 3 I have, close to an inch in size looks more yellow than my other two that are orange. Is this normal?

    Was this a scam?

Always check reviews before making a purchase. What's the whole story behind this? Did you order from a different country? From someone on here? A possibly shady website? As asked above, did you use Paypal?

How do you keep your invert rooms warm?

I have mine in my living room, so during winter I keep my heat set to the 70's, I live in an upstairs apartment so it stays on the warmer side thanks to my neighbor below me running his heat and haven't had any issues.
