I was very excited to get a GBB a while back. From the first moment I saw a pic of the species, I was dying to have one and after reading up on them quite a bit I finally pulled the trigger. But a few months she arrived (a juvenile I think - her adult coloring hadn't come in yet) she died. :(...

Hmm, that is good to know. She is charging slightly more than the breeders do for verified females of the same species, though. I guess maybe that's what gets me; if you're going to charge female prices shouldn't you be sure that it's a female? I guess it's up to the consumer to stay informed.

Like everyone has said, I wouldn't handle a T. Maybe a lizard would be better if you want to hold it? I'd suggest a bearded dragon or an iguana if they're legal in your area. My iguana used to love riding around on my shoulder.

Checked on my Ts this morning, found an exuvium in my GBB's enclosure! It was a relief, because she'd been in premolt for about three months. I hope she gets huge!

It's the tarantula version of forgetting your keys, or locking your key in your car. He'll have to crash with a buddy until AAA shows up.
