I agree it looks bare lol but I shouldn't get any more slings for awhile. And I'm trying to consider spacing for adult enclosures later on too. But not bad for $30 at target I think.
Also last night all my slings came out for some decent pics, which are much easier to take and observe now on...
No I didn't get more slings lol
But my critter room now has a new set of shelves to hold and display my Ts. Got it on sale and I think it doesn't look too bad.
I will say though that it looks pretty empty for now, agree? Lol
I do plan on more eventually so a cheap drill would be good but the safety pin idea is a good one for now. I didn't make this enclosure myself so i didn't realize how big the holes were until he was by one.
And also yes im still working on enclosures and collecting bark and twigs for...
Ok thanks guys. Glad I wasn't just paranoid about it and it does look close to others. I really need to get my own drill to make holes or order enclosures with smaller vents.
Also here's another pic that may show a little better, not sure. Just saw him closer and tried getting a clearer one
I mean she's not the happiest that I already actually bring home spiders on purpose haha
But long as they don't get out and are out of the way so she doesnt have to see them she forgets theyre there and that might stop if one escaped
Yeah it looks to be bigger but I was just like hmm he's right by it and idk id rather be safe then sorry, especially since I've read some stories on "I didnt think itd fit"
My girlfriend would also definitely take a firmer stance on my spiders if one got out lol
Caught my OBT sling out and while I think he can't squeeze out this holes on the new home, I'm not entirely sure as he looks a little thin. And I've read how slings can get through small opening you wouldnt think they could.
So just wondering if it looks doable for it to anyone?
I did cover...
Right now mines just in the enclosure I picked it up in so idk what it is. Once I rehouse I'll likely do pure coco fiber (work at a petco and get discounts on bags of eco earth) and use some sphagnum moss on top or mixed it
@Nightshady mine came out tonight too! They have such lovely colors even at this size!
I think ours are about the same size based on your reference, I think my enclosure is 1.5-2" across the front there
There is a small water dish in there I'm back corner. Other pic that shows didn't load, and yeah I need to get more wood/bark pieces.
Anyway there has to be more people that picked something up at the show??
I just got one of these little guys also. Mine luckily came in an enclosure it will be ok in for a bit (unless I rehouse to something else with a different design) but I was hoping itd eat for me tonight with no such luck at the time :(
Here you go, I re housed my OBT sling from the show tonight when I attempted to feed my slings.
No one took any prey :(
0 for 6..
Edit: um ok it loaded same pic even though it was 2 different ones from 2 views lol
Ok lol well I ended up with 3 slings:
Psalmopoeus irminia
Poecilotheria vittata
Poecilotheria fasciata
The fasciata was a bonus from the seller and I had decided I didn't want to pass on grabbing the vittata I was wanting also since I made the trip to pick up. I'm done for now though with the 6...
Is anyone going to this one in Tulare, CA next month? Or has anyone been before?
This is actually where my family has been since I was about 5 or 6 and I don't remember having an expo in town before so I'm debating taking a few days off to go up from San Diego for that weekend to hit up this...
