Hello,
My female B. Hamorii is about 4 years old.She was very docile. She threw her hairs only once and it was when i first receive her and get her out of her package. But since last 2 months she is really defesensive. She is always running to her hide everytime i open the enclosure to feed...
I have her for 2 years and nothing happenned like this.I don't know what caused it.Maybe it is the weather changes from where i live.I will add few more photos in a sec to make it easier to see if it is mold or not.
I have a Female B.Smithi which is around 3 years old now. I wonder when this specie becomes mature. I know feeding, heat and the tarantula itself may change the time but i am asking in average. And how long do they become when they are mature ? On average again. I heard that thay will keep growing...
I didn't know about tarantulas stucking on mesh lids.I will replace it with arcylic. Thanks for informing.
Tarantula is looking way smaller than she actually is on these photos because of the light/angle and her positioning. She is a bit bigger than my hand(not counting fingers.grown male...
Last night i saw my tarantula in strange position. She was hanging on the wall of enclosure but her legs were stretched vertically to the wall. I thought it was just another T thing and didn't do anything. But after 20ish hours she was still hanging like that so i tried to touch her leg from...
Hello everyone,
It is probably asked before but i couldn't find the answer i was looking for.
Do tarantulas want/prefer bigger areas to have ? If not how do we know that they prefer smaller places ? Yes they live in small holes but they wander around much bigger places than what we put them...
Never seen her eat like this. She was in more like a "curl" position when she was eating.
And what i noticed is she was touching the surfuce with her spinnerets and turning around.
Didn't know it was against forum rules. My mistake there.By lock i don't mean like the locks on chests or something like that :D and i am not afreid of her attacking me.She moves when i get too close so i coudln't take a picture of the position i am asking about.
No it's the best photo i could...
Hello,
My 3 years old B.Smithi molted few days ago.She stays in a position as she almost never did before.I can't take her picture because as soon as i remove the lock of enclosure or get close she moves. She moves or stands "normally" sometimes but she is like the pictures below %95 of the time...
Hello,
My female B.Smithi around 3 years old molted last night.I didn't see the process of the molt as i was sleeping so i can't give information about how it went. She was perfectly fine. She was accepting food everytime and i was keeping an eye on the enclosure but after the molt one of her...
My B.Smithi didn't move for 5 days. Its the 5th day.She is barely responding to me opening the locks of her enclosure which she normaly does. I will add a picture from the first day she stopped moving which i took for another question i asked on this forum. She is 2 years old.I don't have the...
I was about to call and question my friend :) Is my friend most likeliy telling the truth about age then ? Spider is shorter than my middle finger ( To end of the abdomen to end of front leg ).I didn't measure my hand and i am 1.85 grown male lol
I don't think "normal" in Turkey to me may be much diffirent than in you US.Atleast for taking care of tarantulas.
Selling tarantulas is banned in Turkey(for petshops).I got it from my friend and she(T) is exacly 2 years and 3 months old.its around 7 cm (2.75 inches).I always make sure...
I am new to hobby.I know molt times can be diffirent due to many reasons like age, specie, temperature etc but i can't stop wondering. What is usual time between molts for 2 years old female B.Smithi on normal conditions ?
I never saw her in defensive posture like lifting front legs, fangs opened or flicking hairs.I guess its mostly likely trying to see if its food then as you said.I am new to hobby and i don't want to do anything wrong to my T that causes her to go agressive.Thank you for your answer.
