I got a solifuge from a reptile expo in October. Supposedly he (she?) is captive bred. The problem I've been having with him is feeding. If I put in a cricket he'll freak out and run away from it. So I've been tong feeding him. If I put it up near his mouth he'll start eating it, but then after...
I have a project in my digital art class where we will be scanning objects and then playing around with them in photoshop. If I were to scan one of my death feigning beetles or millipedes would it hurt them? I would be scanning them with the same kind of thing you use to scan documents, except...
I've had mantises in the past, but I'd definitely consider picking up another one if I saw a really cool species.
They've always been on my list. Never quite got around to them. Do you have a favorite species?
Hello everyone. Just like the rest of you, I love invertebrates. I'm always looking for new and interesting animals to keep. I was wondering if you guys could give me recommendations of the arthropods and other inverts that you enjoy most. I'm looking for something relatively easy to care for...
I've had them for about 6 months. I can do away with the basking lamp. The substrate is about 50% coco fiber 50% leaf litter and wood, but they hardly ever burrow and there's a layer of purely leaf litter at the top of the tank.
What heating device would you suggest, if any?
Hi guys,
I was devastated when I came home today and found one of my Archispirostreptus gigas dead. They were my favorites and I want to make sure I keep my remaining one alive and healthy.
I have her in a 20 gallon long with a 7 inches of a mixture of coco fiber, leaf litter, and softened oak...
My B. albopilosum hasn't eaten in at least two months, she molted about a month ago but still hasn't eaten since then. I've been offering her superworms but she hasn't been going for them recently, even though she's eaten them in the past.
How concerned should I be?
I'm planning on getting a new pet soon, and I'm having trouble deciding between these two. I found an ad for two adult Archispirostreptus gigas that are around 8". I don't know specifically what species the vinegaroon would be, I'd probably get it from an upcoming expo in my area. Any opinions...
I didn't know how expensive the rubber ducky ones were. I think those are out of my price range. The Orange vigor ones I've seen on sites for like $50-$60?
What are some cool, less expensive isopods that you reccomend? I like the zebra striped ones a lot too.
I was looking to get some less common isopods and was wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction.
Specifically I was looking for the "rubber ducky" (not sure what the species name is) or "orange vigor" (Armadillidium vulgare) species. If there are other species or morphs you...
I found these isopods (http://www.roachcrossing.com/for-sale/non-roach/clown-roly-poly/) and they're absolutely beautiful! I would like to get some, but they're expensive and I've never used this website before. Is this a good breeder, or can I get them from a better breeder elsewhere, or at a...
