    A avicularia premolt/eating question

Don't try to feed her again, wait tills she molts, and once is properly hardened up you can feed.

    My first death

That sucks man, some are just not destined to make it I guess.

    My first death

I figured the same thing, it sometimes attacked prey but never ate, just stood over the prey. It could have been a sucking stomach issue.

    My first death

I had the first death in my collection today. I always knew something was off with my GBB, it refused to eat most of the time, and hadn't molted for the 7 months I owned it. It finally turned over yesterday, and my first big red flag was it was on its back for 3 hours, for a 1/2 inch sling this...

Longest time taken to get through a moult?

I would begin to get worried, my slings at that size take max 3-4 hours to molt.

    Concerned newbie

Im assuming that is a Ephebopus uatuman, right? In that case it needs much more substrate as its in obligate burrower. Don't worry about food, just drop it in, if it doesn't eat within a day remove the food. They can drink from the substrate.

    How long is too long?

I bought a GBB with the promise of a really fast growing sling. It hasn't molted since I bought it 6 months ago.

    Obt care sheet ?

Do not do that, OBTs often love to burrow, not providing that option will result in a very stressed tarantula.

Is my Eupalaestrus campestratus about to molt?

Yes wait a week, and at that size they don't need a hide.

Is my Eupalaestrus campestratus about to molt?

As boina said above, I reccomend rehousing into a 2/4 oz deli container.

    I am in love.

I love my irminia as well, threw up a beautiful dirt curtain. Sucks that the only time I saw it was during the rehousing.

    Australian Tarantulas

A water dish is always good to have, its better to have it and not need it, rather than need it and not have it.

    Quickest Growing Tarantula?

Don't worry I have a broken GBB who's refused more times than I can count, and hasn't molted since I got it (6 months)

    Quickest Growing Tarantula?

My P. irminia has been the fastest growing, its already molted twice in three months, and put on a lot of size each time.

Sad day :( (First death in my collection)

Yes, I believe it is the internal moisture that is more important than the dampness of the substrate.

What made you buy your first T, and what was your first?

I remember being fascinated by spiders as a kid. In grade 6 we had to do a presentation on animals, and I chose tarantulas. I remember wanting to buy one then, but my parents didn't allow it. I recently found arachnoboards, and decided I wanted a tarantula. So I went to the local expo and...

I have a pink toe tarantula and she has lost her stick and keeps slipping from a height

You need to put a long log in and add lots of fake plants over it to make for cover and webbing area.
