That might help me out with doing some research then! I haven't made a starter burrow for it, no. I've done as i have with all my others, put in a small hide. Any of my slings that have burrowed, have done from the hides (apart from my c.darlingi that burrowed right in the front corner of the...
I cant find any specific info on keeping these. Ive got a 2-3cm sling on enough sub to burrow, with a hide and small water dish. Is there anything specific for these guys i should do? Its shown no interest in burrowing, and has webbed everything up.
Also are they the same care as the sp...
Thanks. The thing with His, is he has 1 lid for the pair of them, so when he opens It, there's a chance 1 can bolt into the others enclosure. Also I don't know how well he's cut the divider in, but in the 1st shot looks like a fairly big gap. With mine I have the strips for doors and seperate...
So the t's only break dividers, and never break out if acrylic enclosures themselves? Plenty of enclosures are made of acrylic and I've never heard of a t breaking out of one.
I've read posts on t's getting into the other sides of their split enclosures, and I feel the job I've done dividing...
If I ever see it leave it's hide I'll be shocked. The most I've seen out of its hide is a couple legs. That's generally when it gets fed, it seems to stick them out every week or so, and it gets a small roach.
Yeah I will do. The lids were really easy to do, I wanted separate opening sides, and had read how bad some of the screen ones are so seemed like the right thing to do going perspex. Marked out the holes and drilled them to keep them even, had to trim the corners and put a few little indents...
You can see the devider straight down the middle
There is a 10mm lip for either door to shut against to stop any escape or transfer from/into the other side when the door is open.
Same with the 2 lids.
I'm a carpenter/joiner by trade, so getting the divider to be a perfect wit was pretty...
90cm x 45cm x 45cm split down the middle. A door and a lid for each half. More substrate in the Pamph's side (deep enough to burrow, but it's too low from a falling perspective. I've never seen it ever attempt to climb anyway) and less substrate in the metallica side, with high cork bark and...
I've ordered a 22w heat mat to go on the side, ill hook it up and keep an eye on the temps. If i need to use my thermostat i will.
Also, it's moved. It's now tucked up by it's bush, on its side. Half it's legs tucked under it.
It's water dish is high up. Should I move it down to the ground...
I'll get a head pad for the back. The lamp is only there for when it's real cold. We've had a spell here (in the uk) were it's not been above 0°c during the day, and with me and the Mises both at work the house doesn't get heated. I can't heat a whole house for just 2 T's.
The enclosure is one...
Thanks for the reply.
It's moved now, it's upright in the corner if that makes sense. I'm sure I spotted it trying to climb up the glass but not being able to. Ill order some more fake plants for it. Last time i tried real ones they didnt last.
Also that temperature will be difficult for me...
I actually swapped the rise hair and some cash for the p.metallica. the rose hair was too dull and boring for me. Misses has limited me to 2 T's. I have a Pamphobeutus platyomma and that's pretty cool. Still only small though.
I'll leave it in peace as much as I can. It's in the living room...
I will keep an eye on it. Just a bit worrying as it's doing the opposite of what it's supposed to be doing! I will update when anything changes.
Thanks chaps.
Ok so 2 days ago I got myself a p.metallica.
The shop it came from had it in a jar, soakimg wet substrate, mould from an un eaten worm, and loads of condensation on the inside.
I've moved it into it's enclosure (a bit big, but it'll grow into it) and after spending a day walki g up and down...
Ok, so I got Tuco out and into a smaller lot for a couple of hours and dried out his substrate. I used small pots in the microwave and it worked a treat.
Made up his terranium again and after spending some time on the roof of it he went into his Hide, and he was still in it this morning. I...
