I vote move south! We also caught one tiny polydesmid, but I haven’t caught another glimpse of it to be able to ID it yet. This is the first time I’ve seen Narceus in Arkansas, but I’ve never really looked before. It took all I had to wait a day and a half for him to show me where he found it. I...
Oh, and all of this was mid to late afternoon. Most of them were on top of the ground or just under some scattered, thin leaf litter. I was very surprised!
I tried to tell him that, but he just had to have a second opinion. I told him I was 100% positive. :hilarious:
On another note, yesterday I had him take me to where he found it. We didn’t make it to the spot before I saw this big, beautiful tree that just called my name. Needless to say, we...
Ken the Bug Guy is a great site to buy from, but it is more expensive. Bugs in Cyberspace would be my choice of those three options. I’ve never dealt with insect sales.com.
Welcome to the boards! I keep all of my millipedes in plastic tubs with the lid latches. I would avoid the glass tank/terrariums because the screen lids give too much ventilation. You could cover most of the screen with plastic wrap to help with this, but the plastic tubs really do work better...
@mickiem They are doing great! They are finally staying on top a little more, and they're growing like weeds! It's funny though, because the two that I got together, stay together. The one I got after them is a loner. I feel sorry for it, but it seems content. Lol
Great guy to work with! He went above and beyond on helping me work out shipping, which was very fast. Slings arrived healthy, active, and exactly as described. I would definitely recommend him to others, and will most certainly buy from him again!
@mickiem The ones I'm talking about are the Reds. They are longer than my Golds, and those are pretty long themselves. Most likely full grown. I catch the Reds mating all the time. I keep waiting for babies to pop up, but I know that's not likely to happen. :shifty:
I have at least two ornatus out of my bunch that are 8"+. It is crazy! When I got them they were already a good 6" and I assumed they were full grown. I kept expecting to start losing them shortly due to old age, but I haven't lost a single one and they just keep growing. I just consider myself...
I'm going to say female. It looks as if the spermethecae are turned sideways from the tear in the moult. I would like to see someone else's opinion though.
