Maybe after another molt, we could all try again. I am getting to know the more recently available smithi (formerly anitha) myself but I always see much more tan on the carapace vs an all almost dark carapace. Could there be hybrids? We don't know. From the submitted pic i'd assume hamorii.
Very cool. I also added chunks of wood full of "micro" bugs to get something in there. I am n Virginia and the rain has destroyed us. I gt ants, fruit flies, and "micro" bugs meaning tiny things I can't identify in there and they are thriving. Pretty fun to see this all in action!

I bought 3. They will absolutely DRY UP if they aren't kept almost wet btw. Lost 2 out of my 3 sadly. My last one is maybe 3" max, and isn't growing anymore.

Any husbandry tips? I kept all these over 10 years ago no issues on dry substrate and a tiny water dish and a hde. Upper 70's even lower 80's temp wise
I CAN HELP! Mom was in a 5.5 gallon secure tank with 6" substrate as described below with constant water access and dry leaves scattered everywhere. Room was at 75-78 degrees F and humidity never below 50%. She was well fed prior to laying eggs.
