The Cranifer/Fuscus hybrid thingies were sent to us by one of the most knowledgeable and reliable old~timers on this site. (Thanks O.H.) They are nowhere near as large as the B.giganteous - that have been kept pristinely separate from the others. Wing patterns are all as should be with...
JINXED.
She ate it the other day. :(
I expected it and was elated when it appeared she was going to go through with her project, but I still can't help crying over the loss. :(
Will try again with the other 5 girls when Edward matures this season or next.

Ogra's progress during the "big move"
After moving Ogra's tank up the basement stairs, trucking her in a cold Dodge across town and reinstalling her on a very old and bouncy wooden farmhouse floor - she's still holding her sac. She is in the master bedroom with the same old lights on and off...
Thanks to all for sharing my joy! ♥ Both of the girlies have molted within the last 2 months...so here's hoping for success!
And HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Old Hag!
The wee one is now eating a very crippled 10 day crix....so CUTE!! ♥
This must be my week for foundling tarantulas.... I found a Brachy sling in my washing machine just a couple of days ago, lol!

We're going to pair him with our infamous Elvira and also my girl, Jet ~ once he starts spinning sperm webs.
Please keep all digits tangled for their success! :D
Just when we thought that the sac from our girlie N.chromatus was a wash...I just found one single baby under the water dish! The entire sac was hard and solid ~ no clue how this little toughie made it, but it's certainly a keeper!
I'm so proud of my daughter's A.avicularia, Bonnie! This was STAR105.7's first eggsac and we found 88 of the little gems this morning!
Tarangela supplied the MM ("ShyGuy" ~ R.I.P. little buddy!) and jbrd and myself helped pair them - but STAR105.7 did the upkeep and it looks like she...
Exactly right.
The extra males are heading out to stake out new territory, now that there aren't enough "territories" in their current container. Feed off the extra males until you have about 1 male per 10 females. Even this is a very generous ratio for dubia.
I still shake my head when I read these posts.....
1.) The "Organic" dog/cat foods are not good for your roaches. They contain natural pesticides. Rosemary is a natural pesticide. This is why your Grand Mother and Great-Grand Mother lined her pantry shelves with sprigs of it, and grew it around...
I think the Grammostola slings are the most fun to watch when feeding...we call it the "spider rodeo"..lmao! They barrel roll and flip on their backs, holding their prey in a full nelson just like little wrestlers. :D
The C.elegans are pure evil when it comes to feeding time. It's amazing how...
This is what I currently own in my personal collection. Out of this entire list, G.rosea is one of the least likely to be handled, hehehe. No kidding. ;)

Dang! You beat me to it, James! :D
Grammostola pulchra is probably one of the best choices for a first T. They are made of pure sugar. I have 5 of them, of all ages and sizes and every one of them is sweetness-on-8-legs.
They cost a bit more to acquire ~ but when you take into...
