I’m not contradicting you I actually hope your right it would mean that I have 1 male and 3 females and not the othe way around lol. I’m using the attached drawings to identify. What am I missing that your seeing?
I know there are a lot of threads on here about sexing these guys but I am still new so I want to see if I'm right. The first picture is the one I think is my female the second is the one I think is my male
Yes I'm the one on FB lol I could not get the vids to post on here. It's just odd that I've had him for the past month and he has done his digging at night. Then in the past two days he has just gone nuts digging during the day.
My male hairy has been really active today he has managed to dig three separate burrows. Is this normal it like he just ignores the fact that we are here. Normally he runs and hides... not today.
They are ceramic like but I'm not sure what. I picked them up at Pet Smart I think. They are very stable and they seem to like all the hiddiholes. I like them because I can choose how I stack them.
I have a 0.1.0 Heterometrus Petersii I would like to trade for North American species preferably V. carolinianus, C. gracilis or C. hentzi. Text me at 803-271-4954
Thank you
Matt
Well they are settling in nicely. The female has a nice burrow and took a mealworm last night. The male keeps digging new burrows and has not eaten yet. I'll give him a couple of more days and try the food again.
Thank you for the advise. I did put smaller water dishes in the tank today. As to them bridging the devider I don't think that will be an issue the devider is 16" tall and fully sealed on the edges and bottom.
Thank you. They were the only dishes I had on hand when I set the tanks up. I plan on getting smaller ones. They are filled with semi precious stones that we have collected.
I know this is a noob thing to ask but does it look like my V. Carolinianus is trying to molt or is she just doing a rain dance?
I can not get the video to attach so please use the link below.
