So when I originally got my pair of GBA milipedes they arrived in a container from wardscience that contained either some type of moss or a type of dried up grass ball.
They had no dirt in the container but these little guys really loved that moss stuff.
I kept it in the tank with them for...
Sorry about the delayed response back but work kept me busy.
But the tank is rather huge it's I believe 40 gallons, with two rather small agbs in it.
They kinda stick to one side of it and it feels rather empty.
Just curious should i quarantine my new pedes when they arrive or not?
Not sure...
I thought as much for the size difference with the AGBs thankfully the two we have are just babies at around a year+ old each and i agree on how beautiful they are! Can't wait till I can track some down.
I'm looking to get a couple flame leg milipedes, after falling in love with the two A.gigas I bought my husband.
I'd love to get some pretty flame legs for myself.
Heck out of curiosity would the A.gigas and them be fine together?
Or does the flame legs need a different temperature...
Nevermind I figured it out. I'm about 95% sure the little guy his sibling just finished molting and are extremely hungry and thirsty. I didn't realise it at first bu t as I watched he was nomming the little water droplets on the glass lol. So I got a piece of lettuce shaped like a bowl and...
So one of our pedes is pulling another Spider-pede moment on us and is currently Scaleing the glass wall of his tank....Is this normal pede-behavour right after a molt?
I'm including pictures...and he's still climbing higher.
That's something I've always been paranoid about,so I never actually take the lid off.
Our tank has dual-opening front glass doors to it,so I usually open those to mist and feed the little fellas, followed by locking it and wiggling the lock once or twice before leaving the room.
So I was just relaxing on my couch with my husband watching him slaughter an onslaught of zombies on dead rising 4.
When suddenly a non-zombie related sound caught my attention,I turned to look at our Milipede tank and to my horror spotted one of our pedes pulling off a spider-pede action by...
So excited!!!
Today was the first signs of life I've seen since the time I noticed the pedes hiding away.
I was misting the tank as usual.
Decided to peak under one of the spots they use to constantly hide in and low and behold one of them was occupying it.
I squeeled with joy,showed my...
Knew that from the research I did on them before we got em,but figured eventually I'd have to dig for them if they don't show up after a good long while. Example being One or two months of no sightings or something along those lines.
Thanks though and I'll keep you guys appraised of the situation!
So my boyfriend and I are new to owning milipedes,we have couple rather young A.Gigas that I purchased as a gift for him.
I tend to be the one that observes them more than I probably should, but I'm always checking for newly dug holes or if the little guys have shown any surface activity.
I try...
