Female T's eating Male T's, but ON PURPOSE?!

We all know that. I think the OP was wondering if males ever "purposely" DON'T try to run away (like some true spiders do). I was just pointing out that people were misunderstanding the post.

Female T's eating Male T's, but ON PURPOSE?!

OP you are talking about males willingly being eaten by females, right? I think people aren't getting that. Interesting thought.

Cut up a meal worm into bits.. feed it to spiderlings

PSA If anyone doesn't like the idea of cutting up a worm, you can get mini mealworms. When all my Ts were small slings I used to order minis from Rainbow Mealworms.

Pros and cons of popular tarantula YouTubers?

AphonopelmaTX was probably posting on a thread that was originally its own thread but got merged here by a moderator.

    Unusual but funny behavior

I've actually tried taking a picture or video of it but it's hard to get a clear picture through the lid of the enclosure. =/ Imma try again whenever I see it in that corner again. My Pseudhapalopus sp blue used to stick her legs through the vent holes aaaall the time in her old enclosure it was...

    Sudden sling death numbers

I got my very first Ts in November 2017, so far 19 slings and no deaths except 1 DOA because it wasn't packed appropriately and got injured in transit. On the other hand I have a friend who got an Aphonopelma hentzi sling and I helped her set it up and learn how to take care of it and it died...

Difference between Phormictopus sp. Dominican purple and violet?

Tom Moran said he bought his as Phormictopus cautus violet, but there has since been a paper that says Phormictopus cautus is a different spider which is brown and from Cuba. The paper suggested "cautus violet" be changed to "sp Dominican purple". My assumption based on this is that Dominican...

Feedback This site can be frustrating

You're very welcome, glad I could help! Some things on mobile were a learning process for me too (I still have a hard time with Reviews lol). Also see what MrDeranged said - if you go straight to arachnoboards.com you don't even need to click on forums, just scroll down until you find the forum...

Feedback This site can be frustrating

@Spideymom I wonder if you are tapping on the v next to Forums instead of tapping on the word Forums? On my phone the v will bring up the sub-menu that's in your pictures, but if I tap on the word "Forums" then the Forums page loads, and you have to scroll down a bit to get to the Classifieds...

Comment by 'purplephilia' in media '~2" Pseudhapalopus sp blue'

I think female too but I’m not that knowledgeable about ventral sexing. If I ever manage to get an intact molt I’ll post it for reference as well.

Moving to a new state with my t's.

I moved 18 slings and 1 adult from San Diego to Tucson - I left all of them in their containers, put their containers in a big box with padding so they couldn't get jostled around, and made sure the box was nestled securely in the back seat of the truck and kept the AC on at 75. I did remove my...

1/4 inch lp sling with part of its exo stuck on its butt

Same thing has happened with my Homoeomma sp blue sling and I did pretty much what OP did - put it in a small container with damp moss and the exuvia just fell off on its own. My E campestratus had the top half of her old abdomen stuck after her last molt and it came off on its own as well...
