This is from a juvenile, roughly 2.5". I couldn't get my camera to focus on the right area, but if anyone with more experience can help me out on this one, it would be much appreciated! :)
Thanks, guys. I do have a smaller KK on hand - I'll use that until she's bigger.
I actually put the water dish there because that's the level I planned to fill up the substrate to on the back side. (I hate the front ventilation placement on these enclosures.) I worked on it today and it looks...
I'm picking up a 2" female C. cyaneopubescens tomorrow and am putting together an enclosure for her. I have several other Ts already, but I've never had one that webs like a GBB.
So this is what I've come up with. It's an 8x8x8 enclosure with a front opening door as well as some small feeding...
Thank you all!
I was able to successfully feed her today in a very gross way... popping the head off a mealworm and pulling out all the innards for her. She didn't eat much, but some is better than nothing. I'm going to try doing the same with a waxworm next time. I also moved her to a...
One of my G. pulchripes slings was injured by the lid of her enclosure. She popped out of the enclosure while I had started closing it. Luckily, I reacted quickly and didn't squish her, but the lid touched her enough to stun her. At first, I didn't think she would make it. But by the next day...
I won two tiny "G. pulchra" slings in a contest more than a year ago. The larger one developed the black coloration. But as this one gets bigger, I've become more certain that it's definitely NOT a G. pulchra. Those hairs make me think it might actually be a T. albopilosum. Thoughts?
Sounds like he/she just needs an appropriate enclosure with room to hide and burrow. The wandering and/or defensiveness is common when you first move a T into a new space. They have to make it their own before they become comfortable.
As for the watering problem, I have the same issue with my...
Haven't been on the boards or purchased a new T in a while, but I'll be getting a female C. elegans next month. She is an adult, roughly 1 1/2". I'm exploring some enclosure options so I can set something up for her, and I'd love to see what you all are using for burrowing dwarfs!
I have some...
In effort to introduce my young godson to invert care and appreciation, I'm planning to get him a communal enclosure with a small group of various death feigning beetles. In the process of researching and deciding where to buy the beetles, I came across the diabolical ironclad beetle. I'm...
They're adorable! I got my first crestie toward the beginning of the year, and she's now mostly grown. But I loved the experience so much that I have a new baby now. :)
They are pretty easy reptiles to care for. Temps can go from mid 60s at night to the mid/high 70s during the day, but never...
If you're concerned about skin contact, you can always wear gloves. I don't have a colony, because I don't have enough Ts to keep the population in check, but I'd never go back to crickets after trying dubia. The smell of crickets, even when well cleaned, is just too much for me. Dubia have...
@RezonantVoid This one always eagerly comes out to see me and will jump right on my hand. No fear ever since she was a baby. I always find her sleeping in the weirdest spots, like underneath her elevated food bowl or hanging off a plant by her tail with her front feet dangling. Geckos are...
Just molted a few days ago. My female usually molts a few weeks after him, so I'm waiting on her now. It's so great to see these guys finally putting on some size!
