I took my Avic out for and I wanted some pictures of it, and a possible Sex ID. I noticed something in its mouth, nematodes? Not sure. it’s captive bred and I got it as a 1st instar sling, she just had a bite of a waxworm as a treat. But this thing in her mouth area has me worried. The mass...
Slow grower, eh? It’s going to stay the size of a quarter for 10 years isn’t it?
Didn’t mean to attach that picture of my plants, but I’ll leave it anyway ha!
I see, guess that gives me a good excuse to pick up mealworms for my other inverts haha
The black spot is just their urticating patch, no? Or does it become exaggerated because they bulked up?
I have FFF, melanogaster, I got it tuseday last week, I suspect it maybe in pre-molt but it looks like the abdomen has gotten a bit thinner from last week, I keep one side of the enclosure moister than the other.
Got this REALLY tiny Arizona blond <edit>. Otherwise healthy, currently in a small condiment container with about 4 cm of substrate. Doesn’t seem to be interested in food atm, any tips?
so much conflicting information on this species, my point exactly their is no one correct way to keep them correctly. My stance is since they hail from the tropics and are arboreal humidity can be beneficial if their is ample airflow.
Domesticated animals have done irrefutable damage to our ecosystem, through agriculture and invasive species. Not only domestic animals harm the environment (cats killing 2 billion song birds a year) but they have the real absolute ability to be harmful. Yet we are never going to ban cats or...
Those are great enclosures! Their is a fan running on my invert setups, so I have to worry more about my substrate drying out than getting more wet. Their is plenty of airflow throughout the enclosure. I’ve seen people keep avics in similar conditions dry and moist their doesn't seem to be much...
There was some off color mockery, and like this guy:
“Bruh, your reply was nothing but a discounting of solid advice. LOL! To wit: "I looked at many other sources" "there's a fan running on it" "the set up is not all that big", "feeding shouldn't be a challenge" among others.
Then you plunk...
I got bashed on another thread because of the size but there’s ventilation holes on the side and the lid, there’s also a fan running on it, he’s webbed up in the cork bark and is not leaving. I open the lid toss in or tong feed a small waxworm moth here and there don’t see an issue here.
