I'm up to 9, with 5 more NW on my immediate shortlist. If I had a spare room I could easily end up with way more. I'm just far too paranoid about my cats so all the Ts have to stay in the one cat free room with limited space.
Two main reasons for me. One, so there is always someone to look at...
Here's my experience...
Never hides
B hamorii SA
B boehmi juvie
G pulchra sling
G iheringi juvie/SA
N tripepii juvie
Often visible
Gbb juvie - lots of webbing but out and about a lot every day, only disappeared during premolt
P cambridgei SA - always in tube during the day with only...
It's just a turn of phrase. I have no issue rehousing my new worlds and if I didn't have other pets to worry about I wouldn't be overly concerned about an old world. The fear is that a T is mostly likely to get loose when during a rehouse.
I do like M balfouri which seems to be a recommended first ow, but I don't have unlimited space so I'd be inclined to jump straight to the pokie.
My P cambridgei already has tape securing the lid and I would do the same for any OWs so I'm not overly worried about escapes under normal...
I'm up to 9 Ts now, ranging from a G pulchra sling to a SA P cambridgei. Long term there's a few OWs I'd like, namely a pokie, probably P miranda.
I'm not overly concerned for myself but I'm aware of the risks to the cats and dogs in the house should the T get loose. (My other pets don't go...
I couldn't really see the appeal of P cambridgei - I mean it's just a well camouflaged green-grey T. But they always come highly recommended, especially compared to P irminia which I've long admired. Picked up 'Steve' (sex unknown) this weekend and I'm totally in love.
Thanks all, very helpful.
I do like the A geniculata but tbh it's lower down the list purely because it looks so similar to the N chromatus. I only have limited space so I'm trying to make the most of it.
At this point I've narrowed it down to the G iheringi, C versicolor or P cambridgei so...
Currently I have... B hamorii, B boehmi, G pulchra, P sazimai, N chromatus and C cyaneopubescens.
For my next T I'm after something I'm going to see regularly so no pet holes. Id like either a big hairy terrestrial, something "pretty" or a nice arboreal (although i admit I'm a bit nervous about...
So I had what I was sold as a male P regius. He made himself a dense web nest thing at the top of his viv where he stayed about a week. Then disappeared. Finally found him dead on the floor - not moved in over 48 hours so confident he really is dead.
Went to clean out the viv and realised his...
Yay second successful molt this week. Edna the B boehmi is now out and upright.
I did say I wouldn't get any more Ts until some of mine had molted and I had some money. So 2 good molts and £15 on a scratchcard means I'm good to go right? Lol.
