Hi everybody!
I'm finally getting into scorpions and wanted to ask if there are any species that can be kept at normal room temperature without additional heating! I keep all my Ts that way and they are doing fine! I have between 70°F-74°F (21-23°C) in my room!
Would be great to hear somme...
hello everybody!
i'm looking for tarantula species that are as low maintenace as g. rosea! I mean species where you do not need to worry about temperature and humidity, that are kept dry and where you just refill the water dish and throw food in every once in a while! :D
any suggestions...
well, there are a few species living in this places. some of them are even in trade. but only here in europe i guess
Italy: Ischnocolus triangulifer
Portugal: Ischnocolus holosericus, I. valentinus
Spain: Ischnocolus andalusiacus, I. holosericus, I. valentinus
Greece: Chaetopelma gracile...
hello everybody!
as far as i know some of you (especially you guys from the philippines) own p. baeri!
- how are these t's as far as temperament is concerned? and are they fast and very venomous?
- i've read here two different things about humidity. the one is that a water dish is enough in...
does the same account for holothele incei and p. cambridgei? because i've also heard that their venom is more problematic than the venom of the other NW tarantulas...
hello!
has anyone experiences with feeding those canned insects? do tarantulas eat them? I would order some for my holothele incei from the internet if they are good stuff! and how long can I keep them before they get bad?
would be great if you've got some answers! :)
another option would be those canned crickets...but i don't know if my spiders would eat them and how long you could keep them before they get bad! any experiences?
i used to order crix from the internet, but with so few tarantuls this doesn't pay off anymore. i got a fishing store right next to me an there I could get those flies. that's the only reason why i wanted to substitute flies for my crix...
hello everybody!
I've got a question concerning the food for my holothele incei. due to reasons of space I had to downsize my tarantula collection an i've only kept my several cyriocosmus sp. and my holothele incei! :( I now wanted to ask if it is possible to feed those little spiders (and...
that's interesting! I thought their venom is comparable to that of psalmopoeus since they are both new world species and both lacking urticating hair. because i got bitten once by a p. pulcher and felt sooo damn sick afterwards.
do any of you know more about the venom of holothele incei? is it very potent?
I've already read about it in the bite reports section but hoped some of you are could maybe give me more information on that! would be great!
best regards!
i also have a question concerning the venom.
is the venom of NWs that do not posses urticating hair like holothele, tapinauchenius and psalmopoeus similar to that of OW species. or is it nevertheless weaker?
pre-killed food for arboreals
hello everybody!
i've read here several times that some of you feed their tarantulas thawed or canned crickets! I just wanted to know if this also works for arboreals?
hi!
does any of you guys have experience with feeding canned, or thawed crickets to aboreal species like avicularia? does this work and how do you go about it?
wow...these are all really great pictures!
I would have a question concerning the size of all those different species because I haven't found information on that.
I only own h. incei, which I love for being so small. how large are the other species are they also small?
at least for H...
hi!
just saw this thread! where I live it's kind of hard to get some of this canned food, so I would have to order it via internet! is there anything wrong with freezing such canned crickets? because I would order quite large amounts at a time...
sorry for using the wrong terminology! :)
well, than let's put it this way. how likely is holothele sp. to attack when doing maintenance work, feed it or rehouse it.
hi once more! :)
the aggressiveness seems to be a rather controversial issue as far as the genus holothele (at least h. incei) is concerned.
What are your expereinces? Mine is not overly aggressive but soo damn fast and is always trying to flee when she gets her food! :shame:
and...
thank you for all the information!
I would appreciate it, if all you cyriocosmus owners could give me some more information on the temprament (although some have already done this). Just to get more information. because I red so many things in the net from extremely aggressive to quite...
