You can just put it outside. Or I transferred mine to a smaller container and once it hatched I let them disperse outside.
You might have to put it directly in front of her.
Hi there! I had the one that this post was about for around a year. I fed her moths but they arent picky. Most insects readily available should work. I kept her in a large tall plastic jar. Like the size cheeseballs come in. They're pretty simple to care for. You should do fine :) mine was very...
Yeah I actually do. Do you know if it has a specific name or maybe I could see a picture so I know what to look for? And if I did go with that, how many ventilation holes do you recommend
Yeah I was looking at plastic shoeboxs but I rather use the kritter keeper and just cover up ventilation since they're much more appealing and I can see the millipedes better.
Okay great. I'll also put a thermometer in their tank just to make sure it's the same
My house is usually 72-75F. Should this be ok? Also I couldn't find anything about humidity percentage for them so I'll probably just ask Peter when I order from him.
I'm only getting males so babies arent a problem. I'll probably start out with what I have and get the zilla critter keeper once they get bigger. I'm getting them from bugs in cyberspace and I think he says they'll be two inches. I also am getting my substrate from him.
Do you know what...
Hello,
I asked this in a previous thread but it got left unanswered, so I thought I'd ask in a separate thread
My question is that Im getting three Florida ivory millipedes in about four weeks and I already have a large kritter keeper that's 12" x 6" and around 8" high. Is this a good...
I didn't even think about parks lol. I did just find that bugs in cyberspace sells millipede substrate that's cheeper than Josh's and I'll probably be getting my millipedes from him so I might go with his.
Sorry I didn't make it clearer but I don't have access to any hardwood woods or leaves, not just rotting. I'm pretty sure there's only one hardwood tree on our property and it doesn't drop much wood or leaves. So I think the milli mix is the best option right now.
Alright, I'll do that with the kritter keeper then . Did you cover up all the holes or just half? the one I have is around 12"x6". Is that good for three ivories?
And lastly; I don't have access to much rotting leaves or wood, but I found on Josh's frogs website they have a Milli mix...
Okay, would it be good to get a hyrdrometer to measure humidity or is better to just go by looks?
For the humid place for them, would hide with moss in it be good?
I'd love to go with the kritter keeper as an enclosure for veiwing purposes. Is there any thing I can put over the ventilation...
Thank you for the info! Are narceus Americanus as active on the surface as ivories? That's he main reason ivories are so appealing to me. And how big of an enclosure would three pedes need? I have a large kritter keeper that could probably work if I covered up some of the ventilation. But Im...
Hello! I've recently been quiet interested in keeping millipedes but I have a couple questions.
1. I think I've decided on Florida ivories but if there are any other suggestions on beginner species I'd love to hear them.
2. What if I don't want my millipedes to breed? Do some breeders allow the...
Yeah stinks because I haven't seen any others before.
I'm pretty sure M. Neilyoungi isn't in my range (TN). Acording to bugguide, Only M. Foliata and M. Jenkinsi are in TN. M. Foliata I think looks the most similar to mine. Anyway where do you guys suggest to find trapdoors?
