So It's been a while since i've posted here, and I'm actually posting on behalf of my friend. They don't really use forums and they're actually a bit too upset to post/think about it currently.
So they have colonies of Zebra Isopods, and today found that one of them had suddenly died. They are...
yeah I sort of assumed that... ugh,I wish I knew what the cause of death was... since some people thinks shes premolt, maybe she was trying to molt and something happened? im not sure... i am still going to leave her be for a bit in hopes mayyybe she'll spring back. but considering how...
i didnt know what else to do, i heard ICU's work great to rehydrate T's and help them back. So do you guys think she's still alive? should i put her back in her enclosure? She really isnt moving at ALL though, is that really normal? I thought even in pre molt theyd move a BIT if gently touched...
so i do have water dishes but they usually dont go anywhere near them or even attempt to use them.
this is the sling i presume to be dead. she hasnt moved in 3 days now. even in the ICU
it looks like she was in premolt to me, but at the same time shes not moving at all and her curl is more on...
So I may sound stupid asking this. But can Tarantulas get sick of a food if fed it constantly? i usually feed my slings mealwoms. and lately theyve been denying food, and sadly one of the T's has passed away. they were a B.albo. and i dont want my B.vagans to go next. so should i try feeding...
So I got two Tarantulas (anybody who has seen me post before might recognize me saying this in each post lol) A B.Albo, and a B.Vagans. So I feed them once a week, but my B.Albo has hid in her burrow and hasn't been eating. She's a sling and has a hide since she's on the bigger side (lets say...
So I haven't posted here in a while. But I've been meaning to ask. I got 2 slings, a B.Vagans and a B.Albo. My B.Albo is about.. hmm 1"+ maybe? i have to guess a bit since she always hides and its hard to actually measure her. And My B.Vagans is about 1/4" or so. maybe a bit bigger.
How often...
she doesn't leave her burrow for food though :/ i need to put food down her burrow. food outside wont draw her out. im not even sure if she'd notice since the burrow is very deep
Thats the problem really, I cant actually get a pic of the T because they squish their legs against them and are always in the burrow, so it's almost impossible to get a picture. I can try my best to get measurements, though i'd probably only be able to get accurate body measurements, not legs.
so, my B.Albo has grown quite a bit. The problem is, due to her burrowing, I cant actually tell if she's outgrown her enclosure or not. When she sits in there, she usually sits with her legs very close to her body, so its hard to measure how big she is with legs included and how that lines up...
5-10 minutes? wow, thats super fast! i never had an adult T, these are my first, but i just saw lots of videos of it taken multiple hours. That's really interesting! i hope she definitely did it after then, since i left her alone for a good 2 maybe 3 hours
Oh really? wow! alright, i'll stay hopeful that they molted after the incident then, and that they'll be alright. They seemed completely fine body wise, not deformed or anything, so thats good!
thank you very much for all the info!
though, doesn't it take almost a full day for them to molt? if it takes any longer then 1-3 hours, then i dont think she could molt before the event sadly. But, i'll stay hopeful that she did and I just didn't notice. I was pretty emotional and scared, and...
yeah, i was very worried. I've calmed down now, and actually learnt she DID indeed molt and the people saying she did, were indeed right. i didnt understand what people were talking about since she didnt look pale to me, but i was a bit right about lighting. I moved her to better light, and...
yeah, that makes sense. its just... a bit disrespectful. Especially when they admitted to not even reading the thread lol. I'm just a bit more of an emotional person, and thinking my spiders dead, yeah i'm a bit more upset then i would likely usually be. this is my first set of T's and Im trying...
as good as the advice is i dont quite appreciate the 'stop before you kill your pet' comment from someone, especially considering as far as i know, they're dying. I was always instructed you can gently brush its legs and abdomen with a soft pain brush, which i was doing since it hadn't moved at...
thanks for the info, ill take a look after a few days. If anything this worries me more due to the fall.
maybe its just the lighting in the picture because shes really not nearly as light as in the picture you provided. shes almost black
nope, thats a piece of cocoa fiber :/ its actually been this colour since I got it, which was a bit ago... maybe a few months? it has barely changed colour at all.
maybe read the entire thread next time before you be so insensitive to someone who possibly just lost their pet. Shes very young, and hasn't changed colour almost at all since I got her.
dont tell me to calm down, my pet could be dying and you are sitting here insulting me for requesting help smh
