I have messaged the other person in the conversation privately and I would rather talk with them personally than continue on this post. If you guys have anything to say about the original post then I would love to hear your thoughts, otherwise I think we've all exhausted this conversation. I...
I was pretty confident people would understand the blatant sarcasm in both statements, but i may have overestimated how willing some people were to read between the lines.
I get that people think that they were just trying to "help me" but to be completely honest, its extremely rude to assume...
Currently just got out of the hospital to see this. I had previously said I'm not as concerned with venom intensity or aggression anymore. Like i previously stated I wanted to start with some more beginner friendly species, but now I'm open. I don't handle or open enclosures unless it is...
you guys need to take a giant chill pill. I was joking....I am more than aware that they are not mammals and don't form bonds with their keepers. The entirety of what you quoted was me kidding. However I also don't assume to know the thoughts of an animal because I'm not a mind reader. Y'all are...
totally understood. I don't handle and i don't mess with my T's at all. Just feed and water and thats all so I'm not terribly concerned with temperament but I totally get they are super lighting fast.
I'll give you guys all a list of ones that I'm heavily considering:
GBB
C. Veris
A. purpurea
LP
OBT??(little afraid, a lot in love)
I'm currently writing down everyones suggestions and researching everything.
You caught me. I have exclusively stuck to OW's because I'm new and I wanted to tackle a few hardier species with a bit less attitude first. I have considered an LP but I'm loving my avic and am also looking into more arboreals. I live in Maryland so it gets quite cold here and its also...
I currently have 5 tarantulas, mostly terrestrial, 1 arboreal. I am looking for some suggestions on new additions. What are your favorite species to keep? Trying to keep it affordable. Thanks guys!
I can only hope to own one of the few tarantulas with actual emotions. I rescued her from petco where they were pretty much drowning her in water. I explained to the manager that the care they were providing wasn't adequate and she seemed extremely receptive and appreciative and actually gave...
Let me start out by saying that I do not handle my tarantulas, but I recently got a new sling and every time I open the container she waits for me to open the lid and then crawled out of the container quickly and onto my hand and then just sits there. Anybody have any idea why she's doing this...
Bought a female A. chalcodes from ken and asked her to be shipped on a certain day which ken did with no problem. He was super easy to communicate with and really worked with me. She came packed beautifully and was super active when she arrived. SHES BEAUTIFUL
There's a difference between using animals to feed others and having an animal accidentally eat another. I respect that feeder animals are animals too actually. I know there's a circle of life with animals and prey. I just hate to see something like this happen when it isn't a predator prey...
I never said that. Lol. All I said was I don't see an animals death as a punishment and I wish people didnt refer to it as that. It isn't a personal attack against you and I never said you were rude. Just don't like it when people refer to death as a punishment.
I get that completely, but at the end of the day I don't want to punish people for not listening by having their animals die. Does that make sense? I understand the mistake he made, and even that he chose to ignore peoples cautions. I just don't like that an animal was punished for a persons...
I get what you're saying. But i wasn't reading it as everyone being hostile, I just don't agree with the "you got what was coming" Nothing happened to him. He has been left down one animal. An animal lost its life. Thats were I struggle here. I feel so bad for the animal that probably died...
