New owner with concern. Seeking advice.

Seems weird, but your t will basically eat however he/she wants to...even if it looks really weird and uncomfortable to the rest of the world. I would just be happy that it has settled in so quickly and is eating.

    A. geniculata male

Hello internet friends, As the title hints, my geniculata hooked out recently. I'm not exactly sure what to do with him. He is easily my favorite t in the collection so I really wont enjoy seeing him go but I also would like for him to contribute to his species. Hes probably around 7.5in, I've...

What made you buy your first T, and what was your first?

My dad kept a B. hamori in the 80's. I don't remember it, but I do remember all the Polaroids. It just looked awesome unlike anything I'd ever seen before, growing up in the countryside of Canada. He always told me it was the easiest pet to care for. They really are. I already had hamsters...

    Death curling

Hello. I had a similar experience with this about a couple months ago when I got my first A. avic., shes approx. 4in and i put her into 3 gallon vertical enclosure. I could be super wrong, but i think she just wanted a smaller enclosure. In the 3 gallon she would crawl around in a death curl...

    P. Metallica frequently refuses food

Spraying water doesn't really do much, try overflowing a water dish a little bit. i usually do this weekly while feeding...not much but just enough to keep a consistent level of humidity. Also it looks like there's not enough cross ventilation, drilling a couple holes on the sides will help with...

    Humidity problems

id ditch the heat pad....if you're comfortable in a t-shirt, your t will be comfortable as well. id also lose the sponge in your water dish, they're great for storing bacteria but that's about it. If your concerned about feeders drowning in it...don't leave them in there lol. The enclosure is on...

Suggestions for a good display tarantula?

    A. Geniculata or a p. cambridgei. Both of mine refuse to actually use their hides, and both have great feeding responses. They're both very easy on the eyes! Cambridgei is, IMO, much faster, and because she has a thin layer of web across her entire cage, when I drop anything she will bolt from...

Which tarantulas do you see yourself never owning?

Grammastola and brachys. Also not my thing. Nice size but I like a little more "personality" in my T's lol

    Tarantula starved itself to death

I wouldn't say damp, if I squeezed it nothing would come out. I use zoo meds eco earth, it had a darker colour to it. To the touch it felt good, it would clump without any drips.

    Tarantula starved itself to death

OK. ..my 2in Ornithoctoninae sp. Hatihati passed 2 days ago. It was killing and abandoning prey. I tried crickets, meal worms, bits of super worms, both fresh and pre killed, I live in Canada so no roaches. Fresh water was available at all times. The room is kept at 78° and humidity was 75-80%...

    Worried about my GBB (still)

Hello, So I have never had any experience with this before, take it as you will, so I curiously googled this. Water blister-I think is unlikely for an invert, again no experience with this so could be VERY wrong Infection- maybe fungal but gbb are dry, although not arid, I doubt fungi would be...

I've decided on my next tarantulas

First time I rehoused my irminia she bolted, landed on my foot and tagged me. She was only 2" at the time so it wasn't bad, but it was a very dramatic learning experience. My Cambridgei is always out in the open and calm whenever I have to work with her. I've watched her bolt at prey, she is...
