A while ago (Dec?) I posted about my Cyriopagopus sp. blue molting out without fangs. Well she molted a few days ago, so I threw a cricket in there...and she ate it! NO MORE CRICKET SMOOTHIES! Thank you everyone for youe helpful advice. I am soooooooo thrilled that she's ok! Learned a valuable...
As far as an enclosure, it depends on what you like. I keep my two in 2.5 gallon setups, corkbark hide and a waterdish. Pretty simple. After next molt I'll move them to a 12x12x12. They like it dry, if you mist too much they'll be on the walls. Same with the P. platus. I know some people say...
Just make sure you get it resolved, how much did you pay for your mystery spider? Just make sure you didn't overpay. Good luck, I'm sure you'll love her, she's beautiful. Make sure to post pics after she molts :D
Yes, I think it's a P. cancerides....but pictures can be deceiving sometimes. When she molts, the coppery color on her carapice will probibly be more proniounced.
You called the dealer? what was the response? Was there a possible mix up? I don't know what the price difference is, but I dont...
Looks like a P. cancerides (that's going to molt soon) to me as well. Here are my two P.cancerides right before thier last molt. they were probibly 3.5 inches in the pics below.
1 escape, 20 spiders...I think I had 10 at the time though. Been keeping spiders on and off for 11 years now.
I had a P.cancerides push the lid off her enclosure (4x4 lucite cube) I found her on the floor near the dresser she was on. Those cubes are handy, but certainly not escape proof. If...
you dont have to do a large scale breeding project with these guys. I only have 20 spiders so I don't need thousands of crickets. I get about 2-500 every two weeks. Lol, I also supply three other people with crickets. I would hate for them to go to waste. All of the above info is good, I just do...
There's alot of different thoughts out there about water crystals, so I wanted to share an interesting observation. A couple of months ago I started breeding feeder crickets. I feed the pinheads water from a paper towel, and the larger crickets water crystals/gel. I've noticed that the bugs that...
I love my P. regalis, besides my grammostolas, she is the one I hesitate the least with. Obt's are far more defensive and fast. Get your pokie, you wont regret it :D
Lol, I know :) If I remember correctly, I have two P. cancerides from you--they are doing fabulous by the way...expecting some molting action any time now :D
crickets and Blaberus discoidalis. I like the crix for the smaller T's cause the roach nymps tend to burrow, and fight back unless "altered". Do the dubia nymphs burrow as well? I'm gonna get a few madagascar hissers, but not for food :D
No, she's a grammostola grossa, not a rosea :) I never use a flash
And yes, lol, she attacks the tongs every time I'm in there...she'll try to drag them (and me) into her hide, crazy girl :D
edit: hmmm, I wonder what her common name is...ok found it: giant tawny red, or pampas tawny red...
Finally got a picture of this girl, I've had her for more than a month now. She's a beast, attacks anything that enters her cage. Quickly becoming one of my faves :) Edit: oopsie, I guess I could have posted this in a genius thread.
That's normal, but I don't know what it is. I've noticed that from most of my T's over the years. Tarantula drool {D Not sure why, or what the purpose could be though.
The way I see it; if your trying to choose between two T's, theirs a good chance that you will end up with both of them eventually--just save your self the wait and get them both :D
I just started breeding crickets, I have a roach colony--but I need pinheads. You can get chicken mash (unmedicated) in a huge bag for dirt cheap. Package and freeze what your not using right away (and what you have space for), and toss the rest. It's nearly the same thing as the expensive...
Hmmm. I droped a vial, it was a pretty good tumble on a hard floor. P. scrofa, and she hasn't eated since. That was about 3 weeks ago. She's just a wee thing, 1/4" or so. I wonder if she'll be ok.
Sorry about the fall with your rosie, hope she's ok. I would love to hear the update.
