Another great buy from Joe! He found some super interesting amblypygids for me last minute and tacked it in on an order coming in, who else does that?! Always reachable and gets back to me with questions in a timely manner when I'm looking for something. Always a pleasure!
Thx @wizentrop, one ate a cricket drumstick last night, off the ground. The other no dice... If that’s the case and they eat ISO’s, they dwell on the ground to hunt and just hang vertically when resting?
I have some smaller ISO’s (not sure species) I could try feeding them but worried they...
How small you say? well I just got a couple charinus acosta in on a import (thanks @Arthroverts !)...
Found this thread on a search, any tips welcome... as per other key members here, keeping moist with vertical pieces to climb, some holes not too many. left some prekill but no takers, still...
yeah mine seem to appreciate the charcoal. I have the big chunks you use for growing orchids. I first started using them for springtails then when transferring them to different colonies of things found out roaches and isopods also hang out and eat things that grow on them, or at least I think.
An understated and not as readily seen species of armacillidium... not sure what happened to the parents but holy cow there are a lot of babies now juveniles. armadillium like these love veggies. pictured are zucchini with a piece of cuttlebone for calcium.
First 6 months was a pain to feed and incredibly shy, now at an 1"+, finally out more and well, colors are coming along. The other one, not so much still...
This little kid is a skittish, fast and fierce. Makes one web tunnel network, and truth be told rarely see it, but when I do... oof. Districting with a big meal helps. maybe 1".
Got literally just a few individuals while back and one died. The remaining two must have bred and I got a maybe a dozen babies now juveniles. pictured a parent and a few juvies. Just this morning looked in and dozens and dozens of new babies!
aka porcelain roach. Got a colony of young uns earlier this year to try again. Just saw this adult molted out with rehouse. I sure hope another matures and it's the opposite sex, otherwise it'll be dead before i know it, darn things never live long after final molt!
So I just wanted to let you all know that at a gathering of normal (non animal and certainly not invert loving) folk, I spoke at length at the beauty of tarantulas and the intrigue of the hobby and literally everyone looked transfixed and sincerely open to the topic!
I shared numerous pictures...
Just got a kidster a couple months ago. Readily available here if you want one and I've been overlooking getting one for a while, don't know why i waited, elegant they are! guess they aren't out much?
