Any Crested Gecko owner to advice me ?

Enclosure is a good start! I personally would add more foliage to help cover the gecko and help it feel more secure.

    Anyone have crested geckos?

Everything was mostly covered but I just want to clarify a couple points. Cresties can be kept in the 68-78 Fahrenheit range. I let my animal room drop to 68 at night and keep it no higher than 76 during the day. In the 80s cresties can start to have seizures and the heat can cause dehydration...

What was your first 'exotic' pet?

My first exotic pet was a pet store Avic I named Aragog. I got all the wrong information about keeping tarantulas, but somehow I kept 'her' alive for a year. I say 'her' because that's what the pet store told me, and they knew she was female because of the bolus she was carrying around, they...

    Death After Molt

OP is saying that they knew he was a male, OP also knows he was not mature before this molt. This is a weird one. Doesn't look like anything went wrong during the molt. Sorry for your loss.

p.metallica and a couple questions regarding maintaining.

I can't remember where, but I know you can get plastic vents to plug in like you would the screen ones. Tom Moran uses them.

Aphonopelma seemani sling keeps burying itself

This is a burrowing species especially as slings. The sealing of the burrow is it telling you to go away. Your sling is fine. Make sure it has water at all times and do not dig it up anymore.

Sp. Hatihati can be a burrower?

A lot of arboreal slings, especially old worlds, can be almost fossorial as slings. I've raised a few pokies, and psalmopoeus as well will burrow extensively as slings, but when they get to more of a juvenile stage they become more arboreal.

how to people on the buy/sell/trade part of the boards do it safely

Absolutely DO NOT ship through UPS. They will not ship venomous animals, including any kinds of snakes. Fed Ex is the only shipping company that *legally* ships tarantulas. *if you read the fine print, it is not technically legal to ship tarantulas, but Fed Ex will do it. And if you ship via...

Does anyone have registered at what instar a species become mature?

This is a really interesting concept. It would be neat to track, though I can see that being difficult, especially with fossorial sp. Even if you keep a sling from egg laying through maturity, it can be hard to tell when molts occur, and difficult to sex the molts if you have a molt muncher.

4cm Gramastola Pulcheripes buried itself - feed or not? (First time keeper)

If the burrow is sealed up it's a pretty clear 'do not disturb' sign. It will either molt, or decide it's hungry and it will open the burrow back up. The only sp I have heard of needing to be fed when down in its burrow is E. campestratus.

Mexican red knee sling not eating

Yeah that's probably just too cold. I was in a house where heating was not cheap either and all of my Ts, including fast-growing species, grew so slow. Now I'm in a place where it gets down to high 60s at the lowest, and they're putting on some size, even the slow growers.

I'm thinking of getting a Theraphosa Stirmi

T stirmi was one of my first 20 Ts. They are not near as fragile as they are made out to be, even as slings. You have more experience than I did when I got mine! The only thing I would recommend if you feel like you need it is get the enclosure set up before you get them. That way you can play...

    H.gigas enclosure setup

While swimming pools are a neat idea for H gigas, they're more trouble than they're worth. There's a 13 ish page thread on here somewhere about someone that setup a tank enclosure with one side for fish and they never got it to work properly.

Dropped Tarantula... What to look for

I know it was completely avoidable. I'm still upset about it, but I wasn't home at the time to direct my boyfriend otherwise...I don't let him move my animals now
