I have not had any on that list hiss. Only my King Baboon, C marshalli (half the Kings size, but twice as loud) and a B boehmei. And they only do it when disturbed.
I would go with B dubia. Try get a decent size colony to start with depending on how many T's you want to feed. I have not come across a smell with them and they make for great feeders. Only problem with them is that they have a habbit of freezing when in danger and not moving at all for hours.
Thanks, they are indeed abit expensive, but imo definately worth it. They look awesome and big. I am only breeding them for my really big T's so there speed of breeding is not a problem.

I fully agree with this as I have seen it many a times with my own T's. My T's like Haps etc will always go back down into their hides whenever disturbed. The only time you have a hassle with them is when they feel threatened and have nowhere to go.

I can tell you now that your T should be 100%. As long as she is not exposed to very low cold temps. I had a overnight not arrive on a Friday and could only collect on the Monday and all were fine. That's 4 days in the post.

How big is the 2nd T apophysis? I have a couple of them and none of them are even close to black.
For worries about heat mats melting plastic, get two thin wooden boards and put the mat between them. I have done this for mine and it works like a charm.
