    Is my sling in pre-molt?

My porteri sling sealed himself off, but he didn't molt until like 2 months later. I actually ended up removing some of the substrate so there was an opening again, and after that he ate. imo a dark abdomen and fasting are way better signs to look for.

    Please help

If you only have one tarantula, breeding crickets is gonna give you a lot more crickets than you really need. It's your decision and you'll get a better sense of what works for you over time, but if I were you I would switch to dubia roaches or superworms since they live longer, won't reproduce...

    Exuvium pics (A. seemanni)

She molted while I was out of town and my roommates kindly saved the exuvium for me. The closeups are mostly with a clip-on macro phone lens, but a few are through the lens from a laser pointer. I can't really get clear pictures with it because the focal length is so short, but it's useful if...

Most ridiculous thing you've been asked about your Ts?

to be fair, commanding an army of cats would probably be a lot easier than commanding an army of spiders

    Spider Catcher

this seems so unnecessary, when you could just use a cup and piece of paper to take them out without touching them? i guess some people are too scared to put their hands close to a spider but this still seems like a waste of money lol

    What to feed Ts.

Stick with insects. Crickets, roaches, and superworms are all healthy, easy to care for, and easy to find in stores. I don't know if feeding a tarantula mice is bad, but it's just unnecessary.

Willie belongs to no one but he is a good friend of mine

The college I go to has several cats living on campus that are cared for by students and faculty; this is Willie the guardian angel of the upperclassmen dorm. He's about 18 years old and either wholly or partially deaf. He likes to hang around outside the dorm so people will pet him, but its...

Most ridiculous thing you've been asked about your Ts?

I guess I'm thinking more of like, spiders being shown as scary in media and kids picking up on that? Also seeing other people be afraid of them and learning from that. I used to be pretty arachnophobic; nobody ever told me spiders were scary but I just sort of learned to be afraid of them...

Most ridiculous thing you've been asked about your Ts?

imo it's cultural. we're taught from a young age that spiders (and other ~creepy~ animals) are scary and dangerous

Most ridiculous thing you've been asked about your Ts?

I'll start: "If you have a cat and a tarantula, won't the tarantula eat the cat?"
