most any reputable seller would pack with cold packs when shipping to hot places during the summer months. but if your looking for someone in cali first one that comes to mind is Kenthebugguy
you need to dispute this charge from paypal simply because the seller doesn't deserve that money.. its really as simple as that. Had you done business with any of the other sellers that post on these boards you'd be as upset as the majority of the people posting on this thread. Because there are...
I'm sorry it did not make it... but atleast you know you did all you could.
As far as this seller is concerned this experience of yours is enough that I wouldn't want to do business with them and I would want to help prevent others from going through this situation. This T did not have to die...
I hope the best for your tarantula. Pretty rough experience when there like this its always so touch and go.
I would also recommend posting a review for this seller if their is one for them on here. This whole situation your dealing with could have been avoided if the seller didn't send a T...
I should have been more specific I ment the slower growers like rosies or b. hamorii. I tend to forget some like B. vagans don't grow as slow as the others.
My sealed itself completely off when it was in premolt.. thats just normal behavior for these guys. As it gets bigger their will be periods of time you won't see it for months.
Can't really tell from the pics but does the lid have ventilation atleast I'm only seeing the one whole on the side in the one pic. One thing you can do now, is to increase ventilation on the lid if there isn't much. You could put something over the top of the enclosure while you work on the...
You need more ventilation in that enclosure..and its a bit large for a 2 inch sling, but you can prolly get away with it being arboreal.. Its most likely in premolt, so I would mess with its current enclosure till it molts. At that point I'd replace the cardboard with a piece of cork, if that...
As said pics would help, but this is a reclusive species, and they tend to disappear for long periods of time.. my 2 inch spent about 6-7 weeks in pre-molt before it emerged and it took another 10 days before it was ready for a meal. I know when mine is hungry when I can see it otherwise it...
Nothing that is currently worrying you is really a cause for worrying. The most likely scenario is since the feeder you were giving it were on the large side in comparison, it went it to premolt before its body was ready for the molt. Which is fairly normal behavior for slings. They only need...
I'm gonna vote on the GBB not because I consider it superior in the webbing department but because it webs, is hardy, their great eaters and adults are just such pretty species and are so visible.
Of course most of that applies to the other Ts mentioned here, I'm just biased for gbb. Though if...
Yeah I don't know if I've ever had a T that did not eat crickets, I've had a few who only had crickets.. I'm pleased so far since I've been back I've gotten all my Ts to eat dubia or latts, as long as they eat one of those i'm ok with it.
Once you get the idea of what kind of size works in your head you tend to see possible enclosures in everyday items. Something like this is the ultimate budget keeping option, the container is like 5 bucks at walmart.. now i'm not the biggest fan of cheeseballs so I and up taking large amounts...
There is no such thing as a docile asian T... they are all very defensive, the one you mention chilobrachys dyscolus is a fossorial which means for the most part your gonna have what alot of us like to call a pet hole. It will spend the vast majority of its time in its burrow. Fossorials in...
Aggressive is not really the right phrase, their defensive, but most asian species are defensive to the point any attempt at handling them is most likely going to end with a bite that your gonna feel for a week or two and a lost spider as not only is their venom considered medically significant...
This..
Once a sling like this eats the amount of food they need to take them to their next molt they kinda just hunker down and wait for their new exoskeleton to grow. Tarantulas aren't exactly the most active of animals..a tarantula not moving around alot isn't a cause for concern.
he also said he buried himself in this way, could be a language barrier of some kind, considering he's from canada, english might not be his first language or he possibly lacked the terminology and attempted to describe it.
I could be wrong but I also don't think he was expecting his...
