Hello out there!
I just need to know, do tarantulas get really really defensive if they are dying? Sounds like a stupid question but my t (a Costa Rican zebra blue) just moulted yesterday. I looked in her cage and saw she was in what looked like a death curl. So I freaked out and tried to see if...
So, I just got two new additions to my family. A Mexican red knee and a Brazilian black. Both are slings. I put them in decent sized plastic containers with air hole and modest amount of substrate. Made it a little damp for water, but not soaking wet. These would be another two tarantulas I have...
I know that's what she'll do. She's always done that with her dishes and I've just had to remove the webbing and refill. Its easier to manage than with my other t that likes to play with her dish like a toy.:D But I can manage removing the webbing, does that mean the dish is ok to use or is it...
The one i used before seemed too shallow. She just kept webbing over it and sooner or later all the water would just disappear. There's also a huge wet spot where the smaller dish used to be. Here's a comparison if it helps.
Hi, so my tarantulas water dish kept wicking water and I decided to change the dish completely, to something that was still small enough but deeper so she couldn't tip it over or lose all the water due to her webbing. I saw something similar to this on youtube with a guy who used smaller deli...
So I know this species needs more substrate and a moister environment. Not soaking wet but just enough. So hows this?
Just looking for some feed back.
P.S.
From my last thread involving my GBB, I finally found that worm and tore it out!!
So I looked through her enclosure and couldn't find a single trace of the worm. Not even in the substrate. Should I take that as she found it and ate it?
I tried to feed my juvenile Green Bottle Blue a few minutes ago and she acted strange when It was presented. The food item was a super worm, the same I fed her last week and she ate it. This time it looked like she went for it but backed off the last second. She didn't just flat out reject it...
So my A. Simoni juvenile hasn't eaten in a long time, she's webbed up the ground of her enclosure, and now I found her in her hut. She didn't seem like there was anything wrong with her ( No death curl or anything) so I tapped the webbing around her hut and she immediately got defensive. It made...
So i was trying to clear my t's water dish to put in some fresh water and of course she grabbed at the webbing. I think i stressed her out a little because she flicked hairs at me and a puff ball of hair went everywhere. I took a picture. Is this normal looking?
She was currently trying to...
Beautiful shot!!! You lucky bastard, I haven't seen one of those spiders around my area for years. The last time was when I was in elementary school.:D
Ok so its been a few at least 2 days since my T's moult. She crawls around a little and she has plenty of water. I found her in this position not to long ago tonight. Should i be concerned?
This is her a little while after i bumped her to see if she wanted to move.
She did it!! My girl Sapphire the GBB has moulted!!! Im so happy and relieved.
she just came out of her hide today so she's still really fresh. I just have to wait on her now to harden up.
