Gramostola pulchra is not your average spider. They drink beer, watch TV and are into kinky stuff. I have spiders and "zwarte Nel", Black Nellie, is something else..... trust me :)

Think I lost my first juvenile-adult tarantula

Do you mean the times between molts or the actual recovery after the molt? I think I notice this with my chromatopelma, she is still pretty quick back on her feet but when smaller she was roaming the terrarium in a day or so, now that she is an adult things take much longer (several days before...

The Goddess: an open virtual letter to the arachno-pundits community

I was already worried about that so I tried to be polite :) How many times a day do you have your Goddess bite you and are the halucinations really worth the agony? Thinking about getting one myself as they are only the price of 2 papertrips..... ;)

Tarantula molt stuck at cephalothorax (thorax, not abdomen)

I feel your frustration. I had a spider going ill and ultimately dying on me. It sucks. I was trying to get help on what to do but wasnt very lucky either. Thing is there are NO experts on how to operate a tarantula. Dissecting it, probably.... At the end of the day your T is stuck. It will...

A molt gone good - chromatopelma

I cant wait for her to eat again and show off her new size. I find that especially this species streches up a lot after some weeks and a decent meal. One of my favorites :)

A molt gone good - chromatopelma

She already flipped back on her feet. Diagonal legspan of the molt is little over 12cm with a 5cm body lenght. I assume she pretty much reached adult size now. Time for her to mate if I can find a male somewhere :)
