    Tarantulas and Color Vision

Yeah I know, but articles like these are just generalising. With weaker likely meaning less dangerous on the whole. This isn’t a published paper.

    Tarantulas and Color Vision

Well for all intents and purposes, you're far more likely to die from a bee sting than a tarantula bite. Becoming allergic to vespid venom is common enough, and the chances of complications of that magnitude from a Tarantula are basically non existant.

Could a potent venom OW bite be fatal to an infant?

Yes it does. I've been through this on my thread that is stickied. It is possible, just unlikely given the make up of tarantula venom. I will copy and past what I have written before: Anaphylaxis: Tons of interest in this topic and speculation, some correct to a degree and others not so...

Could a potent venom OW bite be fatal to an infant?

A baby, possible. But if you were to seek medical attention, most likely no. Many things are a risk to babies with their weakened immune systems. So it would be wise to treat any Tarantula as potentially fatal to a baby. 2 month old children have been stung by Centruroides sculpturatus - a...

    Tarantula venom, and anaphylaxis

No, most likely just a bit of cyanosis - lack of oxygen in the blood in that particular area. Although from my memory, when i saw the pic i swear it was really poor quality - so was hard to tell the extent of it.

    Tarantula venom, and anaphylaxis

That does sound like an allergic reaction on some level, not the greatest - obviously. But in terms of if you were to take a pokie bite, true spider venom and tarantula venom are very different in composition. You wouldn't be allergic to a pokie, but you may well be allergic to another true...

    Felis catus

Can you please post more pics of her? :) I don't come on here as I'm not keeping T's anymore, but had to come on to ask for more pics of her. I'm cat obsessed and need more pics of her in my life haha.

Keepers Opinions on Hapalopus sp.columbia large

Guess they all are a bit different. I'm not keeping T's anymore, but the one i was looking after was annoying lol. Would always try and run out whenever i opened the lid. Maybe because it was a mature male? As it was never hiding, always walking about and ready to make a run for it.

Has anyone here ever eaten their tarantula?

Well, they can if they're highly stressed or ill. Even then, I've had to force feed baby Malayan pit vipers that were perfectly healthy, for a year and half before they would eat for themselves. Some snakes that are obligate amphibian feeders when young for example, simply will not take...

    Can a tarantula be albino?

Considering spiders contain melanin, it's wise to assume that an albino is possible. http://jeb.biologists.org/content/early/2015/10/07/jeb.128801

    Can a tarantula be albino?

You have issues. Go see a psychiatrist. What's so wrong about commenting on an old thread with relevant information? Rather than creating new ones, which won't contain posts from members that no longer frequent the forums. Posts which may contain some useful information/opinions.

    Stupid gnats!!!!!!

By the way, peat moss is like one of the worst things for fugus gnats. They love the stuff. I have some of them right now, but they appear to have almost completely disappeared by letting the sub dry out a bit more than usual.

Do you ever feel bad for the prey?

Nope, because I think locusts and the like are disgusting/ugly animals. Unlike cute mice or chicks, that I have to feed to my snakes. Makes me wish my snakes could be veggie haha.

    An expensive sling?

Well, funnily enough they've raised their price by £34 now lol. Maybe they agreed with TSS to raise the price. http://spidershop.pl/ I bought slings from them for £50 each - just a month ago.

    An expensive sling?

You can buy those slings for £34 less from someone else. I wouldn't call £84 expensive, though.

    What would you name her?

Violet. I don't know why people care so much if someone names their T's. It's their animal. I don't name mine, but there's literally no point in adding useless comments.
