Hi,
This is a noob question, but do mature male T. Blondi’s show a visible hook or pedipalp? The male is getting big and walking around. I want to make sure that I’m not missing anything.
For really dirty surface, spray with diluted vinegar, no more than 50%. Otherwise, use lukewarm water.
The only drawback with vinegar is the lingering smell that goes away a few days. It’s about as nontoxic as you can get.
i agree with having a deeper water dish, a 3 or 4 oz deli cup is what I use.
Having a larger water bowl like that would make me worry about a T falling on its abdomen on a hard surface. I always avoid solid sharp decorative stuff.
Overall it’s fine, the enclosure is beautiful. Here are things to improve:
1. water dish can be half the size.
2. Get rid of the rocks, in case the T falls on it
the sand is fine
Any recommendations on arboreal roach species? I’m considering panchlora sp. “giant”, but they are difficult to locate.
I plan to keep these as a hobby and occasionally use them to feed my arboreal Ts.
Sorry for your loss, don't beat yourself up over this. IMO, Ts can be fed from a shelf so long as you have safe guards and awareness of where the T is. There are keepers and breeders who have 300+ Ts, they're not setting all enclosures down on the floor either, it would take too long.
Purchased several slings
- professional packaging
- constant communication and updates
- very healthy slings
- will definitely buy again, no hesitation
Theyre discussed as part of a documentary, accordingly, the scientists who discovered them deliberately delayed their naming and locations to prevent predation from collectors. It’s neat, but they live in burrows, ie pet holes
I put my driftwood in an oven at 180 F for 1 hr and leave it in the oven overnight. That should kill unwanted insects and mites.
If you want sterility, then it needs to be in an autoclave or pressure cooker at 121 C for 45 min. This would be overkill, but it’s the standard definition of lab...
The commonly understood definition of a "bolus" used by T keepers is a dead prey that's been masticated and partially eaten by a T. The bolus contains digestive enzymes meant to break down food with webbing mixed in. Webbing has antibacterial and antifungal properties, which will help the bolus...
I emailed them back in April 2019 asking the same question and also with the comment that I’d have proper import permits before purchasing. A few days later, they responded that there’s no shipping to the US.
Perhaps at one time they did, but it doesn’t seem to be the case any longer.
